me, knowing full well Democrats AND Republicans are in the Epstein files altr

[-] [email protected] 82 points 3 days ago

Jail them all. Yes, I say ALL. Did I stutter?

I suppose if being against genocide makes me antisemitic, wanting to release the Epstein files probably makes me a child predator!

[-] [email protected] 41 points 3 days ago

Yup… no loyalty.

Name in Epstein Files? Straight to jail.

[-] [email protected] 36 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

No. They get a trial, THEN bury the fuckers under the prison.

[-] [email protected] 21 points 3 days ago

The trial is important. Being on a list isn't a crime. Being photographed with or knowing someone isn't a crime. Trafficking and sexual abusing children is. I would assume there are people who knew Epstein and are on the list but were/are not traffickers/abusers. It's up to the justice department to prove who was a criminal. I suspect the files weren't released before because there is insufficient evidence. Now they're not released because certain people are worried they might be on the list.

Epstein's book with contact info for friends and acquaintances was released years ago. We already have that. That sparked a bunch of stuff when it came out.

All the hubbub now has nothing to do with innocent people, it is specifically about his client list. AKA the guilty ones he helped. Not just the people he knew.

Shroedinger's Epstein List. It simultaneously was on the AG's desk for review a little while back and also never existed.

Completely agree. Was just trying to be funny. Habeas corpus is a cornerstone of our civilization.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 3 days ago

And like, unironically, unsarcastically. Completely seriously. Straight to jail. No bullshit.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Na… due process is important.

Anti-pedophilia is antisemitism

/s, but also Rabbi Kaye subbed at my congregation shortly before appearing on To Catch a Predator, so it's a soft "/s," but only anecdotally.

[-] [email protected] 8 points 3 days ago

Anti-pedophilia is antisemitism

This kind of reminds me of how every several years it seems like a group of pedo's tries to portray themselves as an oppressed minority, and try to "join" LGBT+ spaces. Hard to say how much was genuine vs anti-lgbt astroturfing. I wonder if they will pop up again in all this.

I feel like I remember a college dorm mate telling me about NAMBLA and Butterfly Kisses? The fact that people were so nonchalant to have public meetings like that was horrifying. And he was so matter-of-fact about all of it. I should have caught on sooner just how fucked up he was...

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

I know about NAMBLA from South Park, (National American Marlin Brando Lookalike Association) but do I want to know what Butterfly Kisses is?

On one hand I feel like I should, on the other, ignorance may be blissful and I have no desire to search it.

i think it's a song about parenthood by Bob Carlisle

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

That makes my curiosity worse, but I'm anticipating it being more horrifying.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

They've done all sorts of stuff. Like there was the whole ebinopholoa or whatever where they argued, until you just couldn't stomach it anymore, that post-pubescent children are ok

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

That guy was a family friend of my college gf. I remember the family freaking out when the show aired

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

I only knew him for maybe a couple of months? He was SUPER aggressive with the children at the synagogue, so we all kinda avoided him.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Jail? Nah. Line them all up and…

[-] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

More reason why they'll work together to prevent disclosure, or concoct a cover-up.

Hopefully there's enough on both sides with a spine to do the right thing. Tall order though. As anyone with a functioning brain knows, this means bringing down the executive branch, and probably a lot more powerful, wealthy, and well connected people.

This is REALLY good news, because Republicans on the committee also voted to subpoena. There's a chance that the Epstein files will be seen by this committee—that is HUGE.

Three Republicans on the panel voted with Democrats for the subpoena, sending it through on an 8-2 vote tally.

The Republican subcommittee chairman, Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana, said that work was beginning to draft the subpoena but did not give a timeline for when it would be issued.

Again, I will never get excited about Trump being held accountable until it happens.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice... Can't get fooled again!

[-] [email protected] 42 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

I thought Masturbates-with-his-son Johnson called an early recess to prevent exactly this? Am I misunderstanding how that works, then, or did the committee decide to meet in defiance of that?

[-] [email protected] 23 points 3 days ago

I'm guessing the subcommittee are somewhat autonomous. That's my guess.

[-] [email protected] 15 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

They can’t vote on new legislation during the recess, but I’m guessing the committees can set their own schedule.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

Yeah, this is how it works in my home state. They can still hold committee meetings, but no session where they pass/kill bills.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 3 days ago

Must be pissing off MAGA that Dems are working to release the files over Trump's admin. These "woke" ass pussy libs want to take down child sexual predators over their god king.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 3 days ago

It’s also great because they can’t “both sides” the issue. Like, it’s not “the government elite” but just their idolized Republicans being shitty.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 3 days ago

They're already flipping their brains upsidedown to believe Trump's line that its all a Democrat hoax. The fact that the Dems are pushing to release will only "prove" to them that Trump is right.

[-] [email protected] 23 points 3 days ago

Democrats have JEFFFREY EPSTEIN DERANGEMENT SYNDROME and are "Desecrating" an American Hero! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

[-] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Oh you're good at that.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 3 days ago

The House Oversight Committee is now set to gain possession of the most falsified documents in the history of the United States.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

Will Trump now try to convince the supreme court that molesting kids was part of official duties as president, so he can't be charged?
