Nice, looking forward to another high-profile VR game. I hope it has a decent length.

I might have to get a vr headset...

I don’t recommend it, I couldn’t progress at all in Half Life due to the hand controls on the Index being buggy

Are your controllers defective or do you sweat a lot?

The hand/finger controls in Half-Life worked flawlessly for me.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Sweat impedes the controllers? Sounds like bad design for such expensive tech

Yes, the controllers work with capacitance and water is very much capacitive. People with hyperhidrosis run into issues without gloves or antiperspirant.

Oh, well thanks for the explanation. That's fascinating, sucks for sweaters

water is very much capacitive.

Actually it's sweat.

Except pure water isnt conductive or capacitive

Fair point.

It's the salt and shit in there that matters though.

I tend to get wet hands pretty easily and the index+knuckles is still a stellar VR headset.

I've used it for nearly 4 years now and I've never felt the need to get those silicone slips - which seems to completely resolve the issue.

There were plenty of reasons earlier too. Lots of great content available

Metro is such a good fit for VR, they have a really good concept going here

Hopefully it will be Saints and Sinners level of quality

Had a hunch something like this would happen after paradox of hope got taken down.

Paradox of Hope was an indie VR game heavily inspired by Metro. The dev got hit with a legal notice basically saying we think you're using our IP please stop. And then he pivoted onto a new project.

Oh wow that gameplay is, VERY Metro. Normally I get pissed at these sort of things but the similarities were uncanny

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Both mutant types were just straight up the same, the medkit and gas mask were virtually identical assets, the lighter burning spider webs, if you told me that was anything but Metro I'd be like "nah fam, that's totally metro."

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

IMO he might of had a case if he wanted to fight it but the mutants were very close to Metro's.

Probably should have gotten a job offer though too, if you ask me.

Still waiting for the next game by 4A Games, they literally ended Exodus with "We need to save everyone" like wtf THEN DO IT

I imagine things got disrupted somewhat by the war in their home country.

Ugh I'm still stuck in that close quarters underground level. I picked the sniper rifle...
