My server runs Debian VMs in Proxmox on an i7-2600 which has a lower benchmark than the 6600k. I also used the Perfect Media Server guide, and have 2 x 8T data drives pooled with MergerFS with 1 for snapraid parity, these are passed through to the main VM from Proxmox using 'qm set'. One thing I would often forget after deleting/restoring this VM was to run qm set again after restore, ensuring it has the flag to not back up those drives or else backups will fail and I have to go uncheck the backup option on each drive to fix it.

If I need to spin up another VM for tinkering it's easy enough to mount the NFS share as a volume with docker compose. Proxmox rarely shows CPU usage go above 50% (average is 10%) and this handles the whole *arr stack plus usenet and torrents in a single VM and compose file. I don't have GPU passthrough set up because the motherboard on this older rig didn't support IOMMU, never had issues with Plex or Jellyfin transcoding for Chromecast. I might build a new rig with GPU passthrough support to buffer media faster and selfhost LLMs when I get around to it.

It's okay, Agolf Tweetler doesn't know how to use Lemmy.

The bumpiness could make nails the better option, although if it's just rough sandpaper texture maybe test by hanging something more durable and see if it falls off. The sticky part on these works fine on matte paint because it's a flexible surface you push on for a bit during install, but it definitely works better on gloss paint or other uniform surfaces.

I'm a fan of using the strips, both because it's flush to the wall (unscrew other hardware if needed) and because if it's not perfectly level you can pull it off and reattach to the backing strip. Works best if you apply to the frame with an inch or two of space from the edges so they're not visible after adjustments.

If it's a heavy frame you'll have to resort to finding a stud to drive a nail in, so pay attention to the weight limits on adhesive strips.

There's a book The Alphabet Versus the Goddess which proposes that

pre-literate cultures were principally informed by holistic, right-brain modes that venerated the Goddess, images, and feminine values. Writing drove cultures toward linear left-brain thinking and this shift upset the balance between men and women, initiating the decline of the feminine and ushering in patriarchal rule.

Because the glue cracks instead of flexing, it'll start flaking immediately and make playing more irritating than the normal scratchiness that happens when the edges of a callus starts poking up. Accidentally got super glue on one finger and playing without using that finger was less annoying than using it.

Well all the Jan 6 insurrectionists are pardoned, so even Republican politicians have a reason to fear the gallows

Absolutely zero chance this person recognizes Trump blew up the nuclear deal with Iran, simply because it was signed under Obama. Some of us are cursed with remembering the past.

This was a targeted attack against a cryptocurrency exchange. The specific crypto happened to be Ethereum (ETH), but more importantly the hackers were able to identify and target the specific employees needed for their multi-signature transactions, and infect their machines with malware to alter the user interface and show different destination wallet addresses. The exchange Bybit has offered a 10% bounty which could earn whitehats up to $140 million for any funds recovered, but I would be very surprised to see huge success with the use of mixers and such.
