It's pretty fucked up in places but an excellent game.

No worries at all. I actually found a post working on a FF extension that I think will work. https://beehaw.org/post/493791. Similar idea, but adds an icon to the left of links.

I appreciate you taking the time to look into it though!

Interesting. ok I'll dig further into it being Ghostery related then.

For your sanity, yes, looks relatively the same on me end when I edit bookmark.

I've had a great experience with Jebora! It feels very similar to RIF. It's still growing, but supports a lot of the display settings I like as well as multiple accounts. All around a relatively easy transition.

Do you know if the process works differently in FireFox? (Note that technically I use Ghostery but it's based in Firefox). I copied the script to a new bookmark URL and changed lemmy.world to lemmy.one since thats the instance I'm registered on. However, when clicked nothing happens. Is there something I'm missing?

I think this is always the case with large IPs. It's never one game or community that kills them. They're always their own worst enemy.

Reddit has entered the "Fuck round and find out" portion of their journey.

That would be incredible and help to ease the somewhat jarring user experience for people new to federated platforms.

That's true. Skyrim is like 4 editions in and still has bugs. I definitely don't expect something flawless from Bethesda but I guess I'd still rather wait than it be horrible or put undue stress on the people working on it.

I would definitely agree that announcing it and then going radio silent isn't the way to go. At least give some kind of update as to the progress.

It would be nice if there were an app or plugin that would aggregate them into one heading or folder. So that on the user end all of the [email protected] Gaming@Beehaw, etc etc just show up under #Gaming on the users end. It would also improve the longevity of the smaller ones since we can already post across instances.

That said I'm an idiot and not even remotely sure how that would get set up :).

I like some micromanagement. If it's tinkering with gear or stats then I'm down. Working out how to squeeze out that little extra bit of damage or efficiency is great. However, if you have to actively micromanage units or resources during combat, then its a pass for me. I feel like micromanagement should be an addendum to the core gameplay loop, not it's focus.

This^. And not just the ads, but the decentralized nature should also protect the community at large. Where as if Nintendo doesn't like something on r/Nintendo they may have sufficient pull to force a change. With communities being decentralized it means that corporations have a lessened ability to throw their weight around.
