Lately I've really been enjoying the bazaar. Not even sure how to describe that game. You choose one of 3 heroes and then spend your turns buying items for your board to defeat your opponents in autobattler style fights. The goal is to get to 10 Wins. It's still in closed beta but the gameplay is in already pretty polished.

Had to run the bazaar on wine. Apparently wine has a bug though where the game freezes when you tab out at any point. I have a windows VM now...

The news article is posted here a bit late. Republic day was yesterday, holocaust remembrance day is today and at least for me the doodle is already gone.

Hm, Putting people that openly criticise the party on "a list". Where have I heard this before?

Genuinely scary.

Yeah, that's totally fair. Besides denuvo that was my other concern. I only buy like five games a year though and never at release so I thought I'd treat myself xD

I'd probably recommend to anyone who hasn't sunk hundreds of hours into any of the other civ games to just buy 6/5 and play that until 7 is on sale with a dlc or two. Seeing as how notorious civ is for being worse than the predecessor without dlc.

After thinking about it for weeks I think I've finally settled on buying it, assuming day 1 performance is good. No preorders. I'm not installing that denuvo garbage on my pc though so at least civ 7 has finally made me switch to Linux last weekend.

simply not a viable bill” for “fail[ing] to provide a solution to California Prop. 12.” That proposition prohibits the sale of veal, pork, and egg products by farm owners and operators who knowingly house animals “in a cruel manner.”

Waaah, waaaah, my profits. They'd end up having to pay their workers less so they don't have to decrease their own salaries, those poor, poor CEOs. Also treat their animals marginally better but none of those people care about that...

Politicians of many countries will express their shock and outrage towards the media before turning around and signing even more arms deals with Israel.

First off I really want to thank the developer for a great app, I'm really enjoying browsing Lemmy with connect.

However, there are two features I got really used to from using joey for Reddit for years. One relatively simple one is a sort of link preview. Whenever someone posts a link next to it there'd be a little info where the link would lead. For example random link in connect looks like this but in joey it looked like this: random link<>. Imo it's really handy to know where a link will lead before you click on it.

The other more complex feature is a reader mode for every thread with a link attached to the post itself. You'd basically have three tabs, the first tab is the thread itself with all the comments and the post. The second tab is a normal browser view of the posted link like you get here when you click a link, and the last version is a reader mode. Which was just the best thing ever. It'd try to circumvent paywalls and gdpr prompts too, so most of the time you'd get a plain text view of the posted article.

I know the second one is a big ask, but if you could at least implement the first one that would be amazing. Keep up the great work!

Pretty much what the title says. I used the app twice today and both times after roughly 15-20 minutes my entire phone froze. I couldn't do anything but my inputs were still detected, i.e. I used a shortcut to open my camera and after a while the camera opened.

I'm not sure how long my phone froze this morning but I'd say roughly 2-3 minutes. Just now it froze for a solid 5-6 minutes.

I am using a Motorola Moto g(9) power. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary, just scrolling through the front-page, and I don't have many apps open since I always make sure to close them when I'm done using them.

I might be willing to risk another freeze, just let me know what(&how to) data to record beforehand.
