Although this wasn't really what I was asking at the time, it's good general advice, and I'll try it out. Thanks for your time and input.

I've actually been off my meds for a minute. I haven't had serious issues, but I definitely need to go refill...

Good analogy. Thank you for the thoughtful response!

Hi! Unfortunately I got sick for Christmas and had to stay home; but as I was trying to rest, it almost felt like I physically could not keep up with my mind. It felt uncomfortable to think idly, and of course there wasn't much I could do to help that. Not sure if I tried meditating, and if I did, I didn't say "I'm gonna meditate now," if you know what I mean.

I've tried looking it up and the results mostly talk about "brain fog," and while that may have been a small part of it, I wouldn't describe this experience as such.

Has anyone else had this experience? Like normal ADHD brain is exhausting and hurts while sick?

I've absolutely done it before because I'm weird. Entering 1:90 (on my Kenmore microwave) ticks down 1:89... 1:88... etc. until it hits 1:00 at which point it will continue as normal to 0:59.

1:60 behaves similarly.

I have a feeling the "add 30 seconds" button will correct it to proper time format, but I'll test it for science.

This is the way.

My high school had a pretty big exchange program (up until COVID) mainly from China, Vietnam, and Spain, and I hung out with them all the time after school, and some of them even more 😅. Very pleasant experience getting to know about them and where they came from, and it was always super fun and interesting to see how they would react or approach American customs or even that of the other exchange students.

Was super bummed out when COVID disrupted that.

~40 hours literally a few days ago. Had a project due date through which I procrastinated heavily. Not proud of that one.

I don't think I experienced any hallucinations, but it sucked. What was weird was that by hour ~33, I tried going to sleep, but failed and ultimately got back up. Hopefully never again.

Edit: just occurred to me as well that of that time, I worked for 20 straight hours. Don't be like me.

In about five hours I'm getting rinsed by my MMO of choice.

*A fourth dimension can be time.

Time is a very convenient choice for a fourth dimension, but "fourth" is purely namesake. There's no reason we couldn't describe our world in our three familiar spatial coordinates with an additional coordinate for ~~temperature~~, for example. We just don't easily conceptualize it that way because it feels less contiguous according to how we currently frame our model of reality.

Disclaimer: my sources include internet research and far too much time to think. I'm absolutely open to discussion and new ideas in whatever form.

Edit: Temperature is kind of a bad example at face value, but good conceptually. Hopefully I'm communicating my point at least we'll enough to be comprehended.

I recently got on git add -p, which comes in clutch sometimes. But yeah, I'm definitely about to start doing the interactive add.

Also, squints at your username

I choked on my spit scrolling through this thread because of you

I'm mainly curious about software developers here, or anyone else whose computer is somewhat central to their life, be it professional or hobbyist.

I only have two monitors—one directly in front of me, and another to the right of it, angled toward me. For web development, I keep my editor on the main screen, and anything auxiliary (be that a dev build, a video, StackOverflow, etc.) on the side screen.

I wouldn't mind a third monitor, and if I had one, I'd definitely use it for log/output, since currently it's a floating window that I shuffle around however necessary. It could be smaller than the other two, and I might even turn it vertical so I could split the screen between output and a terminal, configuring a AutoHotKey script to focus the terminal.

What about y'all?
