I've always thought about this. If there was a like a soda machine, with shampoo, dish soap, etc I could refill at, I'd definitely use it.

Ya the thumb drive was a tripping point for me. Took me a minute to understand I had to reformat the drive itself. I also didn't try to partition anything.

I switched to Linux mint because I don't want to think about those things. I barely know how to use the terminal, and probably won't anytime soon. I just pulled the apps I needed off the software manager. I'm as happy as a clam in shit.

An OS that just works, without the constant bullshit that capitalism breeds always encroaching. It does what I want when I want it, no more no less.

People are gonna judge you on a lot dumber shit than that. Do you.

Granting forgiveness isn't about them, it's about you letting go of the hurt. It doesn't mean things necessarily just go back to the way they were, it means things can move onto the next thing. It's about taking that weight off your soul.

I see a lot of people letting their trauma define them. Let the shit drop and grow flowers. Easier said than done, but I think it's still easier than not doing it.

The Paris Fishwives march on Versailles is one of my favorite historical antecdotes. They basically walked up to the soldiers, disarmed them, then marched up to the king and court and told them what for!

Lol have you seen kids these days? I'd be surprised if more than 15 percent are fit for service, and of that 15% maybe half would pass a drug screen.

Fuuuuuuuck. I was so distracted with our own Cheeto in Chief I forgot how shitty the rest of the world can be too. Can we just stop killing each other for 15 fucking minutes!?! Just tedious

Of course it was Indiana, the Florida of the north.

The wiki says it was transferred to Europe via the middle east. It seems obvious the Arabic numerals we use today are so much easier to work with than Roman numerals.

Was there a noticeable uptick in trade simply because bookkeeping became so much easier? Was there a noticeable uptick in the complexity and pervasiveness of monied, as opposed to in kind, daily trade in all levels of society?

It seems like the humble zero hit the scene and next thing you know the Renaissance is getting under way.

I left this pic in a comment on another post, but she's so cute I figured it deserved its own post.

It starts getting warm and she wants in and out dozens of times a day.

She had to get shaved after a tree sap incident.

Her fur was getting too clumped up. Think she got into some tree sap or something.
