Hey guys, I've found JD Vance's lemmy account!
OhNoMoreLemmy
The text behind him in the poster.
The crown and gown just make him look like Biggie.
What is a game that wouldn't be solvable if you removed most of the pieces and positions?
I mean, yes. Any game with only a small number of possible moves can be solved with brute force trial and error.
All unsolved games must have a "sufficient amount of positions" that brute force isn't an option, and enough complexity that there's not a cute maths trick to solve it despite the number of moves.
Chess is one of these unsolved games.
The problem is that US democracy consists of voting for either a conservative party (Democrats) or a fascist party (Republicans).
When the conservatives are in power they care most about preserving the appearance of legitimacy of institutions and they don't do anything like arresting politicians or stuffing the supreme court even though it would strengthen democracy.
Then the fascists get in and destroy everything anyway.
Let's be honest here. Basically no one that's English is actually proud of their country in a non-racist way.
We have two flags. The union jack which is xenophobia lite, and the English flag for full-fat racism.
The US is pretty similar in that they have their US flag for the xenophobia lite and then the Confederate flag for the deep fried racism.
The Confederate flag is worse in that ultimately the Confederate was only ever about racism and slavery, and no sports teams use it so when ever you see it, it's always about racism.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
Just to remind everyone that this is always what the supreme court does.
They pick the most fascist outcome, and then search for any legal argument that will give them the outcome they want.
That's half true.
The problem journalists have is that investigative work and going outside the office is expensive, and with the collapse of print media, most of their jobs have been replace by this slob tabloid/journalism by press release.
So that's all at risk.
Mostly.
This is just exactly how extreme stress tends to feel.
Basically you can't unwind enough to relax and enjoy yourself, and so the times where you should be happy just feel empty.
You see a lot of stuff about WWII just talking about the boredom.
If the stress is work related, you're experiencing burnout and it's time to find a new job.
If it's US related, you might want to look into emigrating. It's not an option for everyone, but if you can get the fuck out, you should think about it.
