Discord will be the next big social media thing, that will crash. Investors invests billion of dollars in Discord and they rejected in 2021 a offer from Microsoft, for 12 billion dollars. Seems like the investors wants more, we will see when they start to monetize the users by themselves, to get the invests back.

Yes, an VPN is not private, because you trust your VPN provider instead your internet provider. But as a german, it's pretty clear that all internet providers would give your name and adress to everyone that asks for it, regardless if you download something through torrent or stream something without the license. I would bet, in near future you cant even download a 30 years old ROM for an emulator, without getting a mail from Nintendos lawyers.

And yes, i trust Mullvad more then my internet provider. All of my devices are connected to Mullvad and i had never any problems.

I'm playing Grim Dawn because i'm not a big fan of always-on in Diablo 4. So i've decided to give Grim Dawn a try and damn, i'm really loving it.

The most annoying is that the space between two words got deleted, if i use backspace, to correct an word i was writing on.

For example what happens to a sentence, when i use backspace:

"This is for examol" (backspace) "This is forexamo" (backspace) "This isforexam" (backspace) "Thisisforexa"

This is fucking annoying.

Already did that for Lemmy and Mastodon. I have more problems with Jerboa then benefits.

I'm absolutley with you. Deleting everything is the only thing Reddit could hurt on the long term. All other protests is just cosmetic.

Simple question: Will you go back to Reddit and other centralized social media platforms, if Reddit step back from the API changes? The benefits of Reddit are obvisiouly, it has million of users and even small communitys have thousands of users.

For me it's pretty clear, after deleting my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Discord accounts, the decentraliced Fediverse is my future in social media. Even with an very much smaller community, i'm not willing to be treated as ad-cow for the big corps.

But what do you think about your future in social media? Fediverse or Reddit, Meta, Google and all the others? Or will you go safe and use both, to have an backup option?
