Honestly I think Zelensky's best play at this point is to agree to whatever with some token resistance, and immediately buy nukes from France, then cancel the deal. Trump/Putin have proven too many times their word doesn't mean shit. Any treaty with them is worth less than the paper it's written on. Treat them as such.

When there's too much to scrutinize, there's no reason to give the benefit of the doubt. Assume guilty until proven innocent, and just work from there. Any mistaken guilt is the fault of the guilty for creating the situation in the first place.

Putin is out of infrastructure targets, and is worried about his refineries getting drone strikes. This isn't a cease fire, it's just a protection agreement for Putin.

Pretty sure being stuck with a Tesla right now, doesn't mean you need to be on a hit list.

Besides, we can already see them on the road, we don't need any other sign they're an asshole.

At the moment it's more like not ever. There's a logarithmic decrease in gains from throwing more processing at LLMs, and we don't have a model for AGI that wouldn't require more knowledge than humans possess.

We don't want to threaten him, we want to tell him to fuck off into retirement. Threats just make politicians go turtle.

I think republicans would be surprised by how many white people depend on those programs. They're in full FAFO mode right now.

Yeah, he's one of the soft targets that should be hiding in a bunker if Trump decides to invade Canada. Not because it would save him, but it saves time on burial if he's already underground.

Zelensky has by no means lost the war, short of the US actually attacking them, which is very unlikely. Especially since half the stalling speeches while the GoP lost the CR vote today were GoP senators talking about backing Ukraine against Russia.

The EU is giving Zelensky better weapons than Russia can field, but production is slow or still ramping up. Russia has a ton of production, for shit weapons. Every passing moment moves advantage more towards Ukraine as more weapon system and insulation against Trump/Starlink comes online. No matter how the cease fire ends up, Russia is on a path to defeat by the end of the year. By next year Putin will be leveraging his house to pay Xi back his loans. And no matter who wins, China wins.

Eh, kind of intentional. If you're gonna fuck around, you're gonna find out.

Zelensky should use any pause in the conflict to re-arm like mad. Divest from Starlink everywhere possible, and bring in European weapon systems. Don't even think about slowing down until they're mining Chernobyl for nukes with a stockpile already standing.

WASHINGTON, Feb 3 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday ordering the creation of a sovereign wealth fund within the next year, saying it could potentially buy the short video app TikTok. Trump offered little in the way of detail and it was unclear how such a wealth fund would work. Typically such funds rely on a country's budget surplus to make investments, but the U.S. operates at a deficit. Its creation also would likely require approval from Congress.

About to be in the market for a new circular saw, just looking for the typical 7.25 blade saw. One thing that has constantly bothered me though is the depth adjustment. Every saw I've ever had used a flip lever on a nut in the back, and that's always been the point of failure. They slip, break, seize or otherwise fail first before anything else on the saw. And it's literally the only setting on a saw that i ever touch beyond changing blades.

So what brand has a reliable depth adjustment?

Saw a post mentioning an old Scottish gentleman that had saved a bottle of whiskey to drink the day Margaret Thatcher died. And I'm quite sure he enjoyed the drink.

So my question to the community, what's the best drink for the day any major politician finally kicks the bucket? Should it be your own favorite spirit, or something to denote the character, and vitriol, of the deceased? Something sweet to enjoy the day, or harsh to remember the bitterness of their character?

I'm trying to plan a shelf for my dining room. Each bottle labeled for who they're waiting for.
