Drivers in Britain should give way to pedestrians at all junctions, including entrances and exits to all roundabouts. It's literally in the highway code.

Admittedly it's only a "should" rather than a "must" for most roundabouts, but still. This is the what driving standards are these days, and it is a good thing. It's all about protecting the more vulnerable. Car drivers are more dangerous to others than pedestrians are, so car drivers have to take more care and should give priority to the more vulnerable pedestrians.

EDIT: But once again I've fallen victim to a classic blunder. The sort of people who would say a roundabout is woke would never care about a well-reasoned argument. And I'm just preaching to the choir in this community anyway!

My guess would be it's because Verstappen and Russell were right alongside, then Verstappen went off the track, then Verstappen was several car lengths ahead. That's an advantage gained even if he didn't explicitly overtake or prevent an overtake off track. That close to the end of the race, it's better to give the place back and overtake than risk a penalty which would drop you several places

Capaldi was the worst of the new Doctors. I've even watched Whitaker's era twice but I can't stand to watch Capaldi a second time. He is so rude and mean, and that's a characterisation of the Doctor that I can't agree with.

It's a shame, because I liked Clara and I remember the time loop episode (Heaven Sent?) as having a really cool premise but I always give up my rewatched after the first one or two Capaldi episodes

Ah, I see we've reached the stage were 90% of posts will now be complaining about Ed Sheeran. How Ed-citing!

It sounds to me like you want a person to go to work, and the other person to stay at home. Doesn't matter which is which. So not mysoginistic at all, if I've understood correctly

WTF is a rural town in the USA? (self.nostupidquestions)

As a non-American, I'm very confused by this. If it's a town, it's not rural by definition. Because, you-know, it's urban.

Also, could we get a definition of town vs small town. Do you not have the concept of a village? (Village in the UK would be a settlement with a population of a couple of thousand, with usually a pub, local shop, maybe a post office and primary school if you're lucky).

I have a custom creature card in my cube. It's a 0/4 with the text: "Rubblebelt Rioters gets +X/+0, where X is the greatest power among creatures."

If it's the only creature in play, it's a 0/4. If it's in play with a 1/1, then it's a 1/4. Easy so far.

What happens if it's the only creature in play and it has a +1/+1 counter on it? Is it a 1/5? Does it see that the greatest power is 1, so it gives itself +1/+0, then +2/+0, +4/+0 ad infinitum?

I don't know of any real card with a similar static ability to check the rulings for.

I cut my own hair today for the first time and I am so happy with the result. I look like a cute little lesbian with a tomboy haircut and I have been smiling every time I see my reflection. It's was really tricky to get right and it took a long time.. I'm sure someone else could have done a better job.. but I finally look like myself! I put my jewellery back on for the first time in months because I felt like I deserve to look my best.

I got exactly one compliment when I went out today. "Did you cut your hair?" "Yes." "Nice." It's not much but I'll take it xD

On a side note, is this what it feels like to fit your gender? Just knowing I look like this instead of a guy with long hair has made me feel different about so many random things today

Our old printer has finally died and I'm coming with little to no knowledge of what to buy next. Our old printer was HP which required proprietary software to use the scanner and also ran the software on startup which all feels a little icky. Everything I've read about HP lately (as well as the quality of this printer TBH) makes me never want to buy from them again.

Just need something cheap and cheerful to print a couple of invoices a month that doesn't connect to the Internet or have AI or whatever other fancy but (for me) unnecessary features printers are doing now.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)
