The only Google PlayStore frond-end that actually work as far as I know is Aurora Store.

Wouldn't this also completely break ad blockers?

Actually, pissing is a kind of deadly disease.

Yes, but their searches are very weird, try searching for the term 'Ask' or 'Community' for example, you get communities that don't even have that word in the description or in their name.

Hey, I FUCKING love Photon and as soon as I can I'm going to donate to the project, but I have three questions: Is there any kind of official community for the project? And, is there a way to search communities and only communities? I mean, I can search for posts and then search for communities where that post may be, but can I search for communities directly, and lastly, how can I join a community within Photon?

To be honest, I tried really hard to give it a try to Kcalc but I give up. Check out Kalk (no, no it's the same), it's a KDE Calculator and it's preatty neat IMO.

Thank you for your contribution!

Fuck, you're right, is that I don't read each new that is posted here, but I should at least read that.

I guess that you still can unplug your lan cable and create a local account?

Isn't this just rule 34 in general instead of yiff?

I remember that when I used Geometric Weather (not developed anymore, its more known fork is called Breeze Weather) it had a option to notify me when it was going to rain, but know that functionality was removed from Breeze Weather, it's there any other app with this functionality?

According to the Eternity Codeberg, the last change in the Eternity code was a month ago which is relatively recent, can anyone who is using the Nightly version confirm if there is anything new in that version?

I wish I could donate to each individual instance but they are too many, and I can't donate to all the ones I use because they are also too many, and I would also like to donate to LibRedirect but I don't know if I should donate to each individual instance I use or to LibRedirect...

My apologies if this seems like an advertisement, I am simply a very grateful user of this project who cannot donate at this time but at least wants to share it with others.

SimpMusic is a Youtube Music front-end similar to ViMusic (or its fork, RiMusic), as such it is not a local music player, but it takes music from Youtube and plays it in an interface similar to Spotify but with its differences.

To give a brief introduction of the app, I summarized the functions that I find most interesting:

  • The app has the ability to download music but usually if you listen to any song it is saved as a cache, so you don't need to download it.

  • The app allows you to see and listen to all the songs in the album of the song you are listening to, and sometimes even includes history and descriptions of that album.

  • The app provides lyrics for most songs using MusicMatch, which are also stored on your device if you have already listened to the song.

  • The app has Sponsorblock support so if your song has filler parts, you can remove them using it.

  • The metadata in the app is generally correct with the song you listen to, contrary to what has happened to me when downloading music from Youtube and then playing it on your local player.

Unfortunately the app has no support for PC (or Linux), but if you are interested in something similar there is Moosync which serves almost the same purpose.

I have a pretty decent PC that I use to virtualize from time to time. I've used VirtualBox and it worked perfectly but I wanted to give the jump to Qemu and using KVM the difference in performance is huge but ONLY when the virtual disk is on an SSD, when is in a HDD the performance is just disgusting.

Why does this happen? I mean this didn't happen on Virtualbox, the problem only happens in Qemu and is even funny because I have used Qemu to virtualize some distros and they run better in my laptop (with nvme) that has worse specs than my PC just because they run in an nvme and my PC on a HDD.

The hard drive is not even that old, I use it to save my games and play them from there in Linux without any problems.

I used to use Hamachi on Windows to play "local LAN" games with my friends, has anyone tried using Tailscale for this purpose? As far as I know it should work fine, but I'm not sure and I don't have any friends to try it out with, but it makes me curious.

I know that with the recent changes to the Twitter APIs it is extremely possible that if this was possible, it is no longer possible, or unlikely, but still as I recall with the Reddit API changes the third-party apps were going to stop working and although I don't use Reddit, I have seen that many Reddit apps still update and here on Lemmy there are those communities that are a mirror, although I guess they are an RSS.

Also, I want to clarify that I know I don't need a Mastodon account to follow an account there, but I wanted to explain it in a way that was easier to understand.

Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know this, but Aves supports built-in video editing, which was a feature I loved from the non-libre version of Simple Gallery, but well, we all know what happens with those apps.

I'm not using the Libre version of the app so this feature may be not available in that version, but both the Libre and this one are available in the F-Droid (or IzzyOnDroid) repositories, as far as I understand the only difference is some proprietary libraries, but I'm not sure at all about this, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Does anyone know of an open source chess app? I searched on F-Droid and didn't find any, only some chess clocks.

I really only follow one Hexbear community here in Yiffit which is [email protected], but I just noticed that since 4 months ago there are no updates in c/libre here in Yiffit, although if you go to the community directly from Hexbear there are new recent posts, and a lot of them.

I already checked the instances blocked by Hexbear and Yiffit doesn't seem to be among them, but neither in "allowed" or "linked" instances, although I have no idea what it's the difference between these.

Any idea why this could be?

I know that there are alot of Spotify downloaders that download the metadata from Spotify and then download the audio from Youtube, but currently I don't use Spotify and I have my playlists on Youtube, is there any way to add the metadata to my songs or download them with the metadata?

Termux is awesome (yiffit.net)

With the Termux + PyPi repositories you can do basically the same as you would do in a normal Linux terminal and it's great.

I'm not a fan of having many apps on my phone and with Termux I can have yt-dlp, ffmpeg and even magick to do almost anything I want, it's just great and I don't know how Termux is not more popular, I hope more people will find sense in it and use it too if they see a use for it.
