You said it will be released this year in another comment. Are they solving fundamental problems like that in the next 9 months?
Self driving is supposed to improve on humans, so there's that.
At this point everyone should know that YouTube thumbnails have no requirement for accuracy. It's more like an album cover.
Pretty sure they know better than to trust in the USA alone.

I wouldn't stop supporting Ukraine with everything that isn't bolted down, because accepting any Russian conquests is worse. But let's not pretend we'll know the truth before this conflict ends. Or even much later.
It may be worse in the USA but capitalism absolutely is the reason it happens.

Considering the use I got out of it, even if I switch to something else tomorrow, the cost for the lifetime pass was peanuts. I'm sure others making that decision based on the situation today will feel the same in a few years. If Plex seems like the best solution today it's not going to fall off the cliff before $120 were worth it.
Not like FOSS projects are immune to bad decisions, and then you either fork it yourself or depend on unpaid volunteers to keep the version you like alive. There's always some risk.
