It's actually a bit more complicated than that:
- Mozilla centrally signs every add-on—but the add-ons in question are still signed by Mozilla
- Mozilla runs a centralized distribution platform but you can self-host your add-on if you want and you have the option to use a custom update URL—the add-ons in question are still hosted by Mozilla, however, they are geo-blocked in the country that counts

Stolen iPhones are locked into a specific Apple account and they tell you the name of that Apple account on the screen that asks for the password.
You can take that account name and simply iMessage the original owner from another device.

I think tge decision is not because they want to hurt iOS users but because the iOS file system is extremely handicapped and the iOS cloud backup is not e2e-encrypted.
If you're only looking from a financial perspective, sure. But given the slow construction times, these decisions are an issue for absolutely everyone, given that decarbonization is a worldwide project.
