You should be fine to not have a phone PIN, unless you're planning on a life of crime.

I'm not even sure what a purity test is anymore... I've only seen it in defense of transphobia. I have no power over Colbert's choice of jokes. I can only criticize bigotry where I see it.

I've had tough conversations about transphobia with other trans people, supportive family members, friends... literal, personal, allies and I'm sill critical of them sometimes. Why the fuck should I give Colbert, with a huge megaphone and audience, a free pass?

Civil rights aren't a technicality. If he 'got off' it would be a victory for everyone who enjoys not being harassed by police.

Slightly more likely than rolling two sixes.

Yes what we need is more nuance between different types of support for nazis. That would make a great epitaph for democracy in fact: "We didn't affirmatively choose this."

Not voting is tacit support of the winner in an election. And by that I mean they helped him win. Enabling, helping, supporting, these are all synonyms to me.

That's awesome, and I totally agree. Everyone already intuitively knows that waves carry energy. We've all heard of tsunamis and earthquakes. The only difference on the quantum scale is that the amount of energy transferred is discretized.

Light is generally better modeled by a wave, so I would say the wave doesn't experience time. Photons are the smallest unit of energy that can be transferred between a light wave and a different particle. They have momentum and direction, but they don't really travel exactly. They just mediate the force between light waves and matter.

Worded differently, a fermion (massive particle) within an electromagnetic (light) wave with a frequency of f may absorb some multiple of h x f joules of energy, where h is a very small constant. There is no way for the wave to transfer less than hf joules to the particle at a time. There is no need to think of photons as anything other than the smallest possible quantization of the electromagnetic wave rather than a particle of light. There's no need to think of it existing for any amount of time or space.

No, they see us as criminals and will deny every right they can, marriage, public service, equal treatment under the law, medical insurance/medication, freedom of association, speech, and even our right to exist. The point is to criminalize and erase our existence from public life.

Let's be clear here: this was not a 'customer', this was a drug addict who died due to their drug addiction. If that sentence makes you feel any less sympathy for them or their family, you can go fuck yourself.

Where are all my transhet sisters?

I love the queer community and I feel like the more I work on myself, the less accepted I will be as a queer person.

For example, I joined a queer friend-finding app recently which didn't have an option to label myself heterosexual. At first I went stealth and didn't list my sexuality, and I got lesbians calling me a tease. I made a public post about being transhet and I mostly got messages from weird cis men.

I'm going to look for friends only under the trans umbrella for now, online and irl.

To that end: I like pop music, knitting, and politics. Please tell me your favorite online communities and people to follow!
