It is a decentralized open source communication protocol offered for the public's use, which means people can modify their instances and generally do, say, or think anything they want in regards to the original founders of the project.

Yeah it's FLOSS and you can do whatever you want with it - no doubt due to the leftist beliefs of the authors.

Regarding doing saying and thinking whatever one wants - yeah I didn't censor anyone, I'm not an unhinged mod with an appetite to ban anyone who disagrees with me - and there's no way to stop someone from thinking whatever they want anyway wtf are we even talking about?

I just thought it's in bad taste to use someone's FLOSS software whilst calling them slurs. Alternatives exist which would be more aligned ideologically with OP's beliefs, that's all.
