This happens literally every four years. I still remember the folks insisting Vermont was going to join Canada back when Bush won in 2004. And all the Texans who rediscovered their secessionist roots four years later under Obama.

We are always and forever plagued by news stories about the random asshats insisting The Independent State of California or a new CSA will definitely resolve the problem of a President they don't personally like.
