Everyone knows Trump makes all his posts himself and not staffers. He's a true fascist.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 11 points 10 months ago

Technically he works for his own campaign, and you know he never reads anything, including his own speeches.

12 Reasons Why This Dooms Biden

 -- Breaking News, NYT
[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 4 points 10 months ago

It's not just the NYT, it's the AP, which I don't get because they're supposed to be many journalists, CNN, CBS, ABC, Reuters sometimes, The Guardian and Politico. I check them every weekday which makes it really obvious.

Adolf, Benito, Francisco, Hideki, and I'll throw in Mao and Joseph would be proud of the orange lunatic. It blows my mind there are plenty of American voters who support this kind of shit. Vote Blue to prevent the "brown swamp" from entering the White House.

I hate the guy with every fiber of my being, but this story has been probably the only one where I absolutely don't care mainly because I know his base and I know how lazy and unprofessional his staff is. I'm like 90% sure this actually wasn't intentional and they were too lazy to analyze the whole thing.

It IS troubling that all the Nazis that would make this content really like Trump...

[–] cafeinux@infosec.pub 13 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I don't think the problem is having published it. I think the problem is having had those words pronounced and recorded.

It's one thing being a racist fascist. It's another having the gal to admit it in private. It's a whole other plate to admit it in front of a camera.

[–] TheSlad@sh.itjust.works 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Its okay if you didnt read the article, most people dont bother to. But maybe don't jump into the discussion pretending like you did...

[–] cafeinux@infosec.pub 1 points 10 months ago

I got a summary out of it, which confirmed I didn't need to read the article. I see this as a win! But yeah, I tend not to read articles about Trump and talking out of my ass afterwards, mea culpa.

[–] dexa_scantron@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

The words were in the text of a (real) headline shown in the video.

I’m like 90% sure this actually wasn’t intentional and they were too lazy to analyze the whole thing.

Just like the $88 baseball.

Or the 1488 children lost.

Or the 14 word immigration statement.

Just one more in a long line of accidental nazi dog whistles.

[–] vinyl@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

The first two I agree thats very sus, but the last one i am a bit lost. And i know the dog whistles, just don't know what you're point out exactly.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

It's a fairly overt reference to the white supremacist 14 words phrase. See this medium article for a good explanation

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 4 points 10 months ago

There are local election candidates who have manages tonnecer post Nazi propaganda despite less staff and less financial backing. At a certain point it's not just incompetence. Its willful. That point was passed during his term, not recently.

Its just a shame that so many can be willfully ignorant or brush it off as you are. It should be consequential. Its like social media companies saying they don't have the funds to properly moderate with staff. Yet newspapers managed for generations. They seem to always have enough staff to take advertising money.

In this case its not turning a blind eye. Its magnifying damaging voices.

[–] Sternhammer@aussie.zone 2 points 10 months ago

lazy and unprofessional

This is a key aspect of Trumpism: it’s all about the grift and that means the shortest path to money.

[–] StalinIsMaiWaifu@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 10 months ago

What analysis is there to be done here? How often do you hear people actually say Reich.

[–] StaySquared@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Damn if you do, damn if you don't?

Should the video had not been removed? I don't know what the issue is? They removed a video that comes off as offensive, right? Isn't that good moderating?

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 29 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The issue is that they actually said that. There should never have been a video in the first place.

[–] massive_bereavement@kbin.social 7 points 10 months ago

He said the quiet part loud.

[–] blargerer@kbin.social 16 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Of course it should be removed. I don't think anyone sane is criticizing him for removing it. The criticism is still that it was ever posted in the first place. The excuse here is pretty weak. You need to be posting the kind of videos that would include such things in order to accidentally miss them.

[–] StaySquared@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Makes sense.

[–] unreasonabro@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

jaysus christ bro, i hope this was sarcasm

[–] StaySquared@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

It wasn't.. this thread has speculations of what really happened. All we know is that a user of Truth Social posted a video, it was reviewed - apparently not thoroughly watched, then it was allowed to be posted by an employee of Truth Social. Then after discovering the icky word, the posted video was removed.

What if said user was actually anti-Trump and tried to damage the image of Trump and his voters? Not hard to believe. Or it could have been a straight up neo-nazi who thinks Trump is the messiah.. Also not hard to believe.

In the end it seems people got sand in between their legs and became hysterical.

[–] unreasonabro@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

also kinda just seems like trump let his jaw flap a little too freely again cuz he's a fucking idiot who's failed upward because the standards of the rich seem based on appearance and illusion rather than competence. Again. The man is a smarmy grifter who failed upward until he popped the top and now he's either going to jail or the system is going to reveal that its corruption is complete, although since Clarence Thomas still holds his position despite his behaviour and his backsliding, retrograde judgments clearly indicates that time has past. The ouroboros was retarded and crawled up its own asshole and died - that's America right now.

Cuz like, have you listened to any of his recent speeches? It's the sound of a flatulent mind. They could be used as intelligence tests to determine how gullible a person is. Every single person who comes out of one of those going "yes yes he made some good points" needs to be collected at the exit and sent to a monastery in the Himalayas so as to receive an actual education since they obviously skipped out on the first pass. Nawm sayin?

Anyway the outrage isn't anything about a social media network, it's just that trump used a new dog whistle for the first time in that video. who knows or even cares if it was altered, he has damned himself with his own mouth so many times and the fact that it's entirely plausible that he said this, and consistent with other shit that has fallen out of his face, is the problem.

If you find the reaction hysterical, perhaps you aren't well-informed about the reasons for the reaction. Hysteria is not the correct response. Shutting down your government and replacing it is. All of you, at once, now. Fail at that and america's over, though it's pretty clear it was killed on 9/11 anyway. Y'all just feeding on the husk.
