The agency noted that prices remain elevated — especially for rent and groceries — even as inflation has cooled off.

For the second consecutive month, food prices grew at a faster rate than headline inflation.

Now imagine someone announcing the creation of a nonprofit crown corporation to be a national grocer. Unfortunately no major party has the balls to propose that. Even Jagmeet is only tweaking antitrust law.

So prices are still going up just not as quickly as they were last month.

Yay I guess

It's not that bleak. Inflation is a healthy sign if it's under control, so it deserves an actual "Yay!", as it also means interest rate cuts can proceed.

Careful, this goes against the talking points!

We only want simple solutions to complex or imagined problems.

Kinda, sorta. The chart is undoubtedly positive, but the major problem of the higher price levels is still with us and we're not doing much in the way of solving the price/income problem.

Yeah I agree with you, decreasing inflation is good, but inflation is a ratchet unless we do deflation or adjust salaries or something.

It's just important we discuss the tradeoffs and acknowledge this is a very hard problem and affects us all.

This is all Trudeau's fault.

Side note, liberals weren't taking credit for inflation going up, but probably will for when it goes down.
