I’m surprised that this made me audibly chuckle. Web designer was a great ending.

True, the beginning is ok, almost obvious pun, which makes the last sentence even more unexpected and funny. Didn't expect a second punchline

The amount of people who don't know the difference between a web designer and a web developer is too damn high!

You know they come in both flavors, right?

Yeah of course but it's weird to think of a male spider kkk maybe because of the "widow" thing idk

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yes, but most males don't spin webs, so a "web designer" spider is far more likely to be female.

Oh I'm aware, that was just pointed at the fact that spiders aren't monogender lol. No Asaris here.

Are they all named Charlotte?

I know this book gets recommended at every opportunity around here, so continuing the tradition: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky is a wonderful sci-fi novel that (among many other things) explores the gender roles of spider society.

The ones that build webs are. The males of orb weavers/cobweb spiders wander from place to place, always on the move looking for food and sexy ladies.

So, the sad news is, most kinds of house spiders that you’d do this to won’t survive if you put them outside. If you want to keep them alive, put them somewhere out of sight.

One imagines they're either spider drinks or said spider was going to the bathroom pretty often and they were out for awhile.
