Summary

The U.S. and Russia started high-level talks in Saudi Arabia, marking a shift in U.S. policy under Trump.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov without including Ukraine or European nations.

The meeting raises concerns in Kyiv and among European leaders, as it could legitimize Russia’s territorial gains and weaken Ukraine.

Ukraine warned that any agreement excluding them would be invalid, while European officials feared Russia might exploit a ceasefire to regroup and launch further attacks in Ukraine or beyond.

It's absolutely infuriating and flat-out an insult that Ukraine and Europe would not be allowed a seat at the negotiation table.

Ukraine not being allowed to decide about their own fate is ridiculous at best.
And Europe was just as much a partner in aiding Ukraine as America was, if not more.

All I can say is that this whole thing reminds me a lot of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact

I agree with you that it's sad and insulting. Europe and the US were about tied in support, with the US slightly higher. That is until today, when the EU announced a new $732 billion in support and war material. Go EU! Fantastic news. That's almost double what has already been sent in total by all countries over the past three years.

Putin always claimed that this is a war between Russia and the US.

And I'm sure whatever they come up with will fuck over Ukraine making it basically impossible for them to accept the terms. Next thing you know the US will say that Ukraine are the aggressors that refuse to make peace and we have to start supporting Russia to keep them under control. Down the line you can throw in some buzzwords about safety and terrorism and now you have US troops in Ukraine on the wrong fucking side.

Welp, Trump literally just said that Ukraine started it earlier today. God damnit, I wish I wasn't right.

Never seen a more useless group of people in a room. This means nothing. It is like children pretending to be shop owners and playing business.

Just ignore this as it is meant to rile up people, just ignore them. Ukraine and Europe should send a message to russia that they are ready for a surrender and prepared to start talking about reparations from russia. If they do not respond continue bombing them. In fact, with the support of Europe Ukraine should expand the war into russia (beyond what they already have).

Main thing to take away from this is: ignore the children on a BS mission and setup a fact and reality based alternative where adults can join and discuss what to do with this war from russia and how to handle and close it.
If you respond to this nonsense meeting and get annoyed or whatever, you just legitimized that group of clowns.

Olaf Scholz just announced the EU will be donating $732 billion of war materiel to Ukraine. I'm so happy about this. They're not going to let the US sell Ukraine out.

I wish I lived in the EU so badly.

either europe gets its shit together or gets divided by russia and usa. If we lose, europe will be colonized and/or enslaved by republicans and russians alike though ultimate winner will be the billionaires. It wont look like colonization of old most likely but we wont be the masters in our own house anymore, so to speak.

Why even give coverage to this circle jerk session?
