Ours were the usual price while people were saying theirs we 7 or 8 dollars

Today ours were over $6

I often forget it even exists until it's in the news or a family member texts me a link to something on Facebook

I personally find it hilarious that they would rather beg than enact the regulations necessary to prevent the problem from happening in the first place
