Arrested for approaching City Council Members? What cowards.

Kluwe has also written a few books. The Prime book was a great read by paperback sci-fi standards.

On the one hand, a tragedy his career was cut short. On the other, I’m glad he got got spared from that meat grinder, and has a bit of a platform to speak out.

i hope i don't never hear of him again

Congratulations! You are now subscribed to Kluwe-facts!

Who gives a fuck what celebrities think of politicians? This isn't news and we are all dumber for having paid attention to it.

Showing public defiance is a good thing. People need to know they can act up, they are not alone.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Except the arrested the poor bastard. That make us newsworthy, but probably doesn’t inspire similar actions.

I’m glad he did it though, but worried he was arrested for speech.

[–] [email protected] 56 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, cause the USA totally hasn't been voting in dumb ass celebrities into positions of power, like the president.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ikr? Ronald was where it started

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ronald was a pretty good politician before he became president. He was popular for a reason and it wasnt because he was an actor. The joke in Back to the Future is funny because he wasn't really very well regarded as an actor. Look up how many Acting Awards he won.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

Wait, so your saying the guy that couldn't win a rigged award contest was better at the socio economic complexities of that is American politics? OK...

[–] [email protected] 45 points 2 months ago

You should at least watch his speech. It's very eloquent and at least his doing a lot more than you ever will

[–] [email protected] 35 points 2 months ago (1 children)

This is definitely news. It's not the biggest story out there by any means, but no one said it was. Is this really something you think NFL news reporters should just ignore though? I also don't believe whitepeopletwitter is a community centered around breaking news so I have zero clue what you're going on about.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

If this was more about Travis Kelce liking Trump you'd have no problem agreeing with me. You're only ignoring the principle in this case because this particular person thinks the same as you.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 months ago

Him being famous doesn't discount the good he's doing

[–] [email protected] 21 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I wouldn't call him a celebrity at this point. And I don't know that being a professional athlete automatically makes one a celebrity either. There are plenty of pro athletes that can walk down the street unrecognized. Just because you're in the NFL doesn't mean everyone knows you.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Buddy of mine is in the nfl. He’s been recognized like twice in 4ish years.

Oh and the one guy got the team wrong so I’m half thinking someone else recognized him first and just didn’t say anything.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

And I've been recognized by people I don't remember meeting from 10+ years ago about that frequently.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah only a handful of folks in professional sports end up being celebrities. Most of them just collect their check and live it up quietly, doing the occasional interview that gets watched by 20 people or so. :p

I’d love that life.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Same. I don't want to be the star, I want to be the person that makes the star look good, like be a clutch second string that doesn't screw up while the star takes a much needed rest. You're still making crazy money, but you also get to live a reasonably quiet life.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 months ago

Unlike this comment which I feel smarter for reading! Thank you!

[–] [email protected] 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Cool what are you doing about this besides typing on a keyboard?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

I mean to be fair: working every day for a living.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 months ago

You're right, I should be worrying about what Travis Kelce thinks of Trump like all the real internet activists.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What we need right now is for people to do anything at all, like this guy. I want to see you get arrested for what you believe in

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

What if I believe in what Elon Musk is doing?I don't, but i could.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Then I guess you could just sit back and see what happens lol

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 months ago (2 children)

To be fair, I was very high when I posted this and I was referring to the Travis Kelce bit. Sometimes you gotta own the downvotes

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

fuck dude gas station blunts are the worst. kelce, swift, fucking whatever.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Fair.

Take a sympathy upvote.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

Although I find this comment pretty stupid, it's quite hard nowadays to not think : Ok, so US has officially joined the New Axis and is there to stay with widd popular support, because they're now basically the nazis. What happens there is of no importance. What's important is to find the new Allies.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I would vote Travis for president. Please run dude! This country needs heart. You don't need to have experience or anything special just be over the required age and love the country that this country could continued to be.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

We don't need more brain injured dudes in the White House.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You realize it seems like he's excited about Trump here, right?
