He's a WW2 veteran who called in an air raid on Rommel. And still writing books, travelling the world, and doing lucid speeches and interviews, 80 years after the war ended. Amazing.
On July 17, 1944, he had spotted a fast-moving staff car, usually used to carry German officers. According to Rohmer, the German officer being carried was Field Marshal Erwin Rommel. Rohmer reported the car's location to Group Control Centre, which sent in a Spitfire piloted by Canadian Charley Fox.
Yeah, they had a copy of his recent book (IIRC 2022?) and I think he mentioned he was working on another one.
