I remember going to the Scala cinema in London in the 80s for a Troma all-nighter: Toxic Avenger 1 & 2 (and maybe 3), Troma's War and Rabid Grannies!

Love the toxic avenger, hope they do it justice. Looks like Tromaville is involved, so I'm sure it'll be great.
Gods forbid we make new IPs.
There’s like… only two sequels in theaters right now. Paddington 3 and Captain America 4. New IPs have sprouted up all the time in recent years with M3GAN, They Follow, (probably) Novocaine, Rebel Ridge.
There’s too wide of an array of things out there to make such a blanket, dismissive statement.
Not to mention Mickey 17 and Black Bag, though they're not doing all that well right now.
I guiltily admit to not having seen either of those yet (my watchlist is enormous); is Mickey spawning a series? I was specifically thinking of movies likely to have more sequels coming out.
Last year I felt like the only films being released were sequels, spinoffs, or remakes. I've not checked this year so far because last year crushed my spirit on that front.
