Summary

Jerce Reyes Barrios, a Venezuelan soccer player, was deported to El Salvador under the Alien Enemies Act after U.S. authorities mistook his soccer logo tattoo for a gang symbol.

Barrios legally entered the U.S. in 2024 and was accused of being a Tren de Aragua gang member.

His attorney argued the tattoo resembled Real Madrid’s logo and provided evidence of his clean record.

Despite a court order blocking such deportations, Barrios was sent to El Salvador, and his current whereabouts are unknown.

FYI, it's way worse than just "deported to El Salvador"

from https://tribune.com.pk/story/2534767/why-the-us-deported-venezuelan-immigrants-to-el-salvadors-mega-prison :

Why were they sent to El Salvador?

Under Trump’s deal, El Salvador will detain the deported individuals for one year in CECOT, the largest and most restrictive prison in the country.

The prison, which can hold up to 40,000 inmates, was designed to house El Salvador’s most dangerous gang members.

The decision to send the immigrants to a foreign prison system instead of their home country is unusual and highly controversial. Critics argue that deportees should be sent back to Venezuela rather than to a country where they have no legal ties.

Yep, this is where we're at, making up clearly bullshit justifications for anyone and everyone. They will use and every justification. They literally just claimed in court that Venezuelans without a criminal record were more dangerous and criminal than those with a criminal record.

Under this, former President Bush could be considered a gang member. It's fucking stupid and so obviously bullshit.

He's still a war criminal, so maybe he should be deported to Iraq or Afghanistan.

I'll say it a thousand times: Democrats being unwilling to prosecute War Crimes is why they never had the balls to bring Trump to justice for far less worse than War Crimes.

Especially when you see his Skull and Bones society tattoo from his time at Yale ..

Deport that fucker NOW! Get these fucking gang members out of our country.

This makes more sense when they show that image of his social media post.

It wasn't about the tattoo or the rock out hand gesture. It was skin color.

Totally common law enforcement tactic.

Back in the day, it was sports teams, just about any team could be justified as "gang affiliated" and they used it as an excuse to hassle minorities.

Every law that is about "gangs" is tailored to harass minorities. Its horrifying how these "gang laws" have been applied in the past, not limited to the shithead racist cops, but also the shithead racist prosecutors and shithead racist judges.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 13 hours ago

Not even laws, just policies... "Oh, if you see someone in a Chicago Bulls hat that means they're in x gang."

[–] [email protected] 5 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
