A group funded by billionaire Elon Musk is offering Wisconsin voters $100 to sign a petition in opposition to “activist judges,” a move that comes two weeks before the state’s Supreme Court election and after the political action committee made a similar proposal last year in battleground states.

this isn't about "buying" votes.. this is about attaining information on voter trends and then adding votes virtually as was done in the 2024 elections. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJR5uQpweko Spoonamore has been pointing this out since Trump got in office. Where is the outrage/ investigation?

Held accountable by whom though?

I’m sorry okay, that kid keeps getting in the way.

What the fuck is an activist judge? A judge that follows the law?

[–] [email protected] 25 points 15 hours ago

Activist Judge = "someone who won't do what we want"

If this isn't already illegal, it should be...

What pisses me off is that search algorithms are so broken now that if I do a search on the legality of petition bribery, all I get is more news articles about Musk bribing people! Which, I guess, is pretty telling in and of itself...

It's only illegal for you and me.

Elon literally committed election fraud. Openly. With a fucking press conference.

Hasn't been charged.

He’s also balls deep in a government that is obsessed with deporting immigrants.

Elon himself was an undocumented immigrant for years, as he violated the terms of and overstayed his student visa.

Genuine question though. If the ultra wealthy use loans against their stocks for cash, does this not violate the terms of one of or all of the loans he uses?

The last time I got a personal loan from my bank, it stipulated that use of the money for any illegal purposes would result in the immediate termination of my loan. Does any financial institution have the balls to enforce this boilerplate clause in elons case?

[–] [email protected] 51 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

It is definitely illegal. It will definitely not be prosecuted.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 17 hours ago

Pardoned so fast it would make your head spin. What law?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 16 hours ago

"Illegal"... hm... now that's a word I haven't heard for a long time.

At this point, you gotta use AI that can search the web to shovel through the crap. Weird time to be alive from every angle.

It saddens me that half the country (including my parents) is so far up his ass that they think this is okay.

[–] [email protected] 55 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I have cut all Trumpers, friends and family, out of my personal life. I have to say, after the initial drama subsided it's been much more peaceful.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Depends on how many were in your life to begin with. My parents were the only ones I still associated with until a month or so ago, and it's been pretty awful if I'm going to be honest.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 hours ago

That's because that isn't a healthy thing to do in the first place. These people are essentially drowning and cutting them out of your life indiscriminately is like speeding away in a boat while you hope they manage to float to an island.

Having a tough conversation with them about your honest concerns is the only way to fix what people have become. It's okay to tell them that their lack of empathy is making you feel sad/depressed. Don't just tell them that they're wrong and need to change their mind. Pick a specific thing they support and tell them what's making you feel upset and let them ruminate on that. Only they can change their minds, so hopefully they view you as a close enough friend to reconsider their actions or beliefs.

It's all bribery and corruption with these people who already have more than enough money for many, many lifetimes. No end to their greed and scumbaggery.
