and you can see why Navajo people are pissed all the time, i had one asa stem prof, and he was generally always angry, especially towards the USA, and that anger often transfer to his students, lashing out them from time to time. he has a distrust of people potentially "Stealing his reputation and work".

[–] [email protected] 5 points 8 hours ago

Let's face it folks - those Navajo code talkers took jobs from hard-working Americans. It's very un-American to promote people just because they couldn't speak English. Now that the websites have been scrubbed the healing can begin. God Bless Trump and all hail America!

[–] [email protected] 16 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I hate how even the most "neutral" articles about the heinous shit being done to the US government right now still manage to have a headline that makes it sound like it's the outrage that's the issue and not the active attempts by government officials to erase any trace of non-white American history

[–] [email protected] 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

“Blast” in an article title is a pretty good indicator that it’s just bait for people who are already outraged about something.

Like, yeah, this shit disgusts me, but I doubt someone “blasting” Trump is gonna do anything about it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 7 hours ago

"Blast" can mean anything from a comdenatory final statement before someone imposes the maximum allowable sentence by law, to an anonymous poster on any social media site saying "I don't like that".

Bullshit phrase

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I suspect that DEI is going to be one of the reasons why Dogey America would lose a civil war. Gay furry hackers DEI vs Hegseth DUI, there is no question about who has passion and competence. The only thing that Hegseth loves or knows is the bottle.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The one thing that might still save us is their virtuosic incompetence. Not just how stupid theyvare, but the fact that they've ejected ANYONE with competence, and replaced them with loyalists, no matter how stupid they are, or how terrible they are at their jobs.

But they're stupider than that. The MAGA Nazis have given the gift of competence to their opposition. Now, all the American leadership with competence, intelligence, is now on the side of their enemy.

In addition, there are still many thousands of people still working in government who hate what is happening to them, their agencies, and their colleagues, and will be ripe and willing targets for espionage, sabotage, information, leaks, etc.

The MAGA Nazi government is surrounded by and filled with enemies and infiltrators, who far outnumber them.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've been telling my husband, since he won, that he's been given a near perfect opportunity for a fascist takeover (his horrendous first term whitewashed, more popularity than ever, more or less unchecked power in the current system) and he's basically been pissing it away (though I don't want to underpresume his capability at failing upward…).

A smart autocrat would have slowly broken norms while justifying himself by bending current rules; he's gone straight to crashing the economy and smashing expectations people relied on faster than than anyone can keep track. Those who are in favor are denied plausible deniability that nothing has changed and those who're hurting so bad they may not've cared can't take hope that he's making their lives better.

It's incredible.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 23 hours ago (2 children)

MAGA is a party of Socio/Psychpaths, who are mostly incapable of understanding the thoughts and feelings of others.

We know that they could have been wildly successful in realigning America along their philosophical lines, just by taking it slowly, but their sociopathic perspectives don't see the advantage in that. They have clearly adopted the Nazi Playbook, which includes the Nazi strategy of Blitzkrieg, so they have embraced it as well. The difference is that Nazis didn't care that the citizens might oppose them, because they were fully prepared from the beginning to ruthlessly eliminate all opposition by any means necessary.

But MAGA is American. Surely Americans wouldn't take it as far as the original Nazis, would they?

Unless thats been the plan all along, and expanding Gitmo to include a facility to incarcerate 30,000 people seems to confirm that.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 hours ago* (last edited 8 hours ago)

Blitzkrieg is not a Nazi strategy Germany had already been fighting WWI like that, or at least tried its hardest to do that, they used the term Bewegungskrieg (manoeuvre warfare) to contrast Stellungskrieg (trench warfare), that's all there is to it. The German preference for decisive battles over wars of attrition dates back to at least Moltke the Elder, whence also Auftragstaktik (mission command) and "no plan survives first contact with the enemy".

Then, the Nazis were way more deliberate and careful when taking over state institutions. And yes they did care about popular opinion that's why they e.g. switched over to nabbing Jews in quiet instead of publicly making a show out of it didn't play well with the population. Trump with Nazi strategy would be saying "We'll re-take Cuba, get rid of socialism, and turn it into a beach resort and every American will be able to go to state-sponsored holidays there". Like this, but bigger.

It's kinda weird to say this as a German but when I look at other countries' fascists they're a clownshow. Nazis of course are also self-destructive, fascism inherently is, but there's a fierce edge of competency in their madness.

That Signal leak? Under the Nazis, heads would be rolling, they would have no qualms bending actual incompetence into high treason to make an example to enforce discipline.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

which includes the Nazi strategy of Blitzkrieg

I mean, that was a Nazi war strategy, not how they consolidated power.

The difference is that Nazis didn’t care that the citizens might oppose them, because they were fully prepared from the beginning to ruthlessly eliminate all opposition by any means necessary.

Sure but they absolutely understood that necessitated plausible deniability; every further reach of power had a cover. There's a reason the suspending of civil liberties only jumped to effect under the cover of the Reichstag fire (and Hitler finally moving to remove Röhm was to appease army and business leaders, because he needed their support) or that Hitler waited until Hindenburg passed before finally assuming complete power.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 22 hours ago

You make some excellent points, and the Nazis took a few years to get to their very worst policies. The roots of the Final Solution started around 1936, when they first embarked on a program to euthanize mentally and physically handicapped citizens.

Yet the Nazis' first moves upon taking power happened very quickly, such as the Enabling Act, which consolidated power in Hitler's hands (HitlerPig actually did the same thing sooner than Hitler did). The Nazis used a blitzkrieg strategy on their own government, before they employed it as a battle strategy, and the MAGANazi's are doing the same thing.

Sure, the Nazis didn't do everything, everywhere, all at once, mostly because it all takes time. Today, with the Internet and social media, it can happen a lot faster. HitlerPig is moving fast, but they still have strategies and policies that they will release over time, because even with the Internet, some stuff still takes time. If you want to detain massive numbers of the opposition, you need a place to hold them, so they have to wait until their 30,000 inmate facility in Guantanamo Bay is finished.

He's such a racist ass.

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I bet that if the internet existed in the 1930s the Nazi party would have scrubbed their official websites of any heroes who were not 100% aryan.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago (4 children)

It would include Hitler's CO. The guy who recommended he get his medals and called him a brave soldier.

So making America great again clearly means a return to the era of rampant racism (did that ever really go away?). And sexism. And ableism. Only this time it's going to be out in the wide open.

What's next?

  • Child labor?
  • Slavery?
  • Debtors' prisons?
  • Mental Institutions?
  • Orphans for "deformed" children?
  • Trail of Tears 2? (probably why he wants to annex Greenland and/or Canada)

This is gets more depressing as fuck every day.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (2 children)

Florida is on it already.

Florida considers bill to roll back child labor laws to fill jobs once held by undocumented migrants

They want minors to work night shifts and encourage people to home school their kids, so they can work more! Yay, progress.

Edit: Oh and they want to pay them below minimum wage!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Florida has been facing a steep shortage of workers. According to figures from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, there are about 53 available workers for every 100 open jobs in the state.

And yet people can still apply and get no response back for these supposed jobs?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 42 minutes ago

It's because they want things like decent wages and not be slaves.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 day ago

Edit: Oh and they want to pay them below minimum wage!

Well obviously. Leave it to Republicans to encourage pushing children into the workforce to fill the gaps Republicans created, but then also insist that because children are poor workers they should be paid less.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 23 hours ago)

All those thimgs, and more, are on the agenda.

Your "Trail of Tears 2" reference? Consider this:

America has the highest incarceration rate in the world. The average maximum security prison holds about 800-1200 people. The largest prison, in Angola, LA, holds about 8300, more than 7x larger than average.

Now the MAGA Nazis are building a facility in Guantanamo Bay, CUBA, that will house 30,000 people, which is almost 4x larger than Angola, which is already 7x larger than average.

Even the Torture Prison in El Salvador is smaller, at 20,000. The MAGA Nazis want to build the biggest nastiest prison in the Western Hemisphere on a black site in a hostile foreign nation, far from the prying eyes of the media or the courts.

Who do the MAGA Nazis plan on putting in a facility that large? They have already established that anyone who is designated a Terrorist can be detained without Due Process - no lawyer, no judge, no court appearances, no trial. You just get sent to anywhere in the world they feel like sending you.

And now they are saying that anyone who protests Tesla is a Terrorist. In the future, anyone who protests anything will be a terrorist. If you vocally oppose giant corporations, you are a Terrorist. If you support a boycott, you are a Terrorist. Write a critical post on social media, wear a t-shirt, demand your right to vote, defend yourself against MAGA Marauders, etc, and you will be designated a Terrorist. Even just living a life that they think is counter to their concept of an ideal society - gay, Liberal, non-Christian, educated, self-employed, etc. will eventually be given the Terrorist designation. Even just registering as anything but a Republican will get you designated as a Terrorist. Not that it matters, there won't be any elections anyway.

In the future, they won't care about crime, unless it is directed at the wealthy. Their primary law enforcement efforts will be against the 70% of Americans they will designate as Terrorists.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He doesn't care about America, simple as that. He is a Russian asset that is dismantling the Government, he is selling you all out whilst distracting you all with news like this.

The USA is dead.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

The goal is not to privatize America it's to destroy it Care of Russia and China. They winning.

[–] [email protected] 169 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Code Talkers are actual legends. Far beyond shameful to do this.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 1 day ago (4 children)

This is infuriatingly disrespectful... just fucking sickening.

They already scrubbed Ira Hayes.

What the fuck are they gonna do next, rename every Army helicopter?

They are all either officially named, or given an... official-unofficial name, after native tribes or chiefs as a sign of respect for their determination, tenacity and ferocity in combat.

Blackhawk.

Chinook.

Kiowa.

Little Bird.

Shawnee.

Choctaw.

Cheyenne.

... and the Commanche and Arapaho, though those never went into full scale production/adoption.

The Huey is actually named the Iroquois, it's just that its original designation of UH-1 got ... nickname-ized and became more prevalent.

...

Oh my fucking god.

https://www.jbsa.mil/News/News/Article/2404797/why-do-army-helicopters-have-native-american-names/

This was the page that described what I am talking about with helicopter naming conventions.

... they literally just affixed 'dei' to the page's name, pointed the old page to redirect to this dei- affixed page, and are then manually refusing to serve anything with dei- affixed to it.

... anger noises ...

If you wanna see a full list well I guess now you gotta go to wikipedia because Trump and Elon are racist fuck sticks.

Maybe the fucking military should fucking say/do something? I dunno just a thought.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The military is supposed to be apolitical and not get involved. They're not elected, so they don't attempt to shift public policy... CONGRESS is supposed to advocate for things like this.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well yes supposedly. But they have also sworn to protect the countries from enemies abroad and within.

From an outsiders perspective: you already have both with the latter leading the government

[–] [email protected] 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Well, no, they protect the "The Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic" and shortly thereafter "and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice."

So, by that logic, 'speaking out' is explicitly against the same oath. Unless of course it's an unlawful order but that's only against the Geneva Convention. Good luck getting some protection there when you decide not to gas the migrants.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 8 hours ago

Protection? If you're still only at the stage where you resist within legal grounds then the US is really done for

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 day ago

They're complicit. They love this. Apparently our military is indescribably racist to its core and loves fascism.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 day ago

Chipmunk is technically an English word now. San Diego is considered a "white name and state" this is the cultural appropriation ppl where worried about. The white washing of other cultures to claim as they're own.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 21 hours ago

The jbsa page you linked is now dead.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 day ago

We are losing so much more than we realize this very moment. This is the true moment, not the election, when we decide if we want to move forward to a world that celebrates our differences, or one that imprisons us because of them.

There is literally no way to define this anti-DEI craze except saying "anyone who wasn't white and male never helped with anything". There isn't even a veneer on it. It's pure racism, sexism... probably many other isms.

Apparently it really is the case that anyone who isn't white is somehow unqualified.

I mean DEI literally exists to remedy the problem of institutional white supremacy (amongst other related issues).

When someone is against DEI, that leaves the objective conclusion they're either ignorant, and will change their mind when presented with reality, or they're pro-white-supremacy—i.e. a Neo-Nazi fascist, with zero room for leeway.

The fight for equality is always the same no matter what new labels the fuckos put on their current theft of freedom.

It's crazy how DEI didn't even exist then yet his base will agree that these types of move are ok. The DOD excuse is just going to be "we used AI". That still has nothing to do with the fact that you're erasing things that have nothing to do with DEI drop the A

Veterans tend to vote republican. I'm guessing the numbers would be about the same for active members. Says a lot about our military doesn't it? They approve of this.
