He needs to hit the rally circuit with Bernie and AOC.

Get ready for that next run. AOC top of ticket, Walz for vice.

Mainstream media asshats:

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 month ago

I can get behind this.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

I don't want Waltz anywhere near the presidency.

I would definitely vote for AOC any day of the week though.

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 month ago

Well I want a team that can win. Other people do like Walz; Harris' popularity spiked with that announcement. The campaign then hid him under a rock because he scared donors.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago (21 children)

Even though AOC is one of the rare American politicians that I like, it's probably not the best idea to make her the presidential candidate. Simply due to the fact that she's a woman. The last few dem losses make it clear that America is still very sexist.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago

I'm in some circles that would never support her because she sat down with Hasan Piker. I would absolutely support her, but she's pretty polarizing. Same was said of Bernie despite him having one of the most successful grassroots attempts in history. Blows my mind that because they're populists they're immediately discounted by some, even though the positions they support are the ones we desperately need.

Forgive my rant, but just because Trump is a populist with us vs them rhetoric does not make them equal by any fucking stretch of the imagination, and it drives me insane that the friends I'm thinking of are so blinded by the label.

Simply due to the fact that she’s a woman. The last few dem losses make it clear that America is still very sexist.

Democrats really are willing to shut out all women as soon as a progressive woman is suggested.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is it because they were women? Are you sure it wasn't because they were borderline Republicans? Both Clinton and Harris are two of the most conservative democratic candidates to run in the last 30 years.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Well keep running women and keep coming up with excuses in why they loose besides admiring America is sexist.

I unfortunately believe it may play some role too for some voters. There are Americans who still embrace their cultures, where there is an emphasis more on men being in charge. Think of some middle eastern cultures for example. And of course, there's the sexists.

Sad reality also is there is a lot of racism still within our country...

Nah.

Illhan Omar/Rashida Tlaib

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (4 children)

I'm sorry don't run another woman. America well not vote one in. Both times Trump win was against women.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago

I doubt it's the fact that they were women. They both just ran on terrible platforms.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

If you think being a woman is why they lost you are an absolute idiot, and will quite litterally lose to the next Republican they run after Trump, who I promise, will be the most dedicated, fascist woman you've ever heard of.

Kamala Harris was one of the most unpopular primary candidates in the 2020 primary, if not the most unpopular; Somehow that didn’t discourage the Democratic Party from anointing her in 2024.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Michelle Obama would clean the floor with dude. Ofc she's too decent to want to be president. We really need to convince her.

Why would they refer to a respectful distancing as "slamming"?

[–] [email protected] 38 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Because he's distancing himself from her politically to be able to run without their performance in the 2024 election dragging him down--and whomever wrote the article clearly has an issue with him and doesn't want the stunt to do what it was designed to do.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Because he’s distancing himself from her politically

I can see wanting to distance yourself from a failed campaign. Wonder why harris didn't.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

The "news" profits from manufactured hype.

There's nothing in this article that matches the title

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 month ago

so..... its a news article in 2025?

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 month ago

This guy gets it. Maybe one of the only Democrats that does, sadly.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's going to take so much thinking to figure out why? I mean, the voters were pretty vocal in what they want, so that can't be the problem. Such a mystery...

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

voters are part of the problem. Half of them, about.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago

voters are part of the problem

It's why we don't listen to them.

I can fully understand the sentiment behind "told you so" and calling out Trump/Republican voters for wanting to throw others under the bus. Still, you're going to have to build as powerful a coalition against the Republican administration as you can, and for many districts this will eventually require a good number of former MAGA people. It may feel shitty, but the most strategic thing (including for the purpose of helping the most oppressed) is to find a way so that potential supporters who voted red in 2024 won't be quiet 2026 and 2028 because of shame.

If you don't come around to this, two years down the road I would have grounds for saying "told you so" to you – and I'd hate me for it, because it would mean that I haven't communicated this crucial point effectively enough. Much love from Germany.

Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson are set to publish Original Sin, a book that promises to reveal the “cover-up” of Biden’s decline, next month.

It's insane how often I still see people claim Biden was fine despite all the evidence and confessions that have came out since the election.

Ideally Biden would have stepped down himself, but they should have article 25th him and let Kamala take over, then ran a legit fair primary where at least voters had a chance to pull Kamala left before the general.

Luckily we've already had a complete turn over of leadership and they're a lot more progressive this time.

Luckily we’ve already had a complete turn over of leadership and they’re a lot more progressive this time.

Ken Martins first act was to pick pro business uber zionist Slotkin to rebut Trumps state of the unions speech. Thats about as far from progressive as you can get.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I still see people on here claiming Biden was fine, it's ridiculous.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

The most infuriating part is they're almost always the ones insulting trumpets for denying reality...

Completely ignorant they're doing the same thing.

They even attack anyone to the left of them just like trumpets do.

Like, in every aspect except what party they claim to have voted for; they act exactly like trump supporters.

The good news is despite being incredibly vocal, they make up a negligible percentage of the party.

That's why when they tried to support Republicans over Obama in 08, it literally didn't matter. So it's not only safe to ignore them and all of their opinions, historically it's the best thing for the candidate and party to do.

It's why I block most of them whenever I run into them. They can't debate policy because neoliberals policy is dog shit, all they're hear to do is slap fights because they're rage addicted.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

It's insane how often I still see people claim Biden was fine despite all the evidence and confessions that have came out since the election.

Not to mention the debate. We all watched him, live, repeating "and by the way" over and over like a mantra and randomly bragging about his golf skills

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Luckily we've already had a complete turn over of leadership and they're a lot more progressive this time.

To be clear, what the party leadership will affect is future—not current—democrats. Expect the DNC to shift left over the next few years, but don't expect the current neoliberal shitstains in office like Schumer, Pelosi and Jeffries to become smaller shitstains. Someone still needs to primary those people.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Expect the DNC to shift left over the next few years

I'll be glad to see it if it ever happens, but I only expect the dnc to punch left and embrace the right.
