Controlled opposition

[–] [email protected] 75 points 5 days ago (6 children)

Oh wow it's like what both Malcolm X and Martin Luther King criticized about the "liberal" party members being a bunch of frauds is still the same 6 decades later.

Shocked I tell you shocked.

People are still assuring me Gaza would also have been magically saved if we had successfully voted in Harris.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 days ago

No one is saying Gaza would have been saved had Harris won. What IS being said, is that we would not have had a side-order of illegal-deportation inspired riots in LA, a systematic stripping of many of our constitutional rights, the nearly complete reversal of all LGBTQ+ rights, a disassembled healthcare system, and the countless childish temper tantrums thrown.

The rest of the world knows that both sides are NOT the same. You all need to quit pretending you have some superpower that enables you to see the unseen.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, trump is doing so much better than Harris ever would have! Remember when she said she was going to destroy the entirety of it's people and open a golf resort with her name on the ashes! So glad trump is not doing that!

Don't hurt yourself bending over backwards to eat your own ass

[–] [email protected] 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Liberals care more about the golf resort than the genocide.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Glad you kept your morals! Hope sacrificing the Palestinians was worth it! So glad they can die so you can hold your nose firmly up in the air. Keep telling yourself you did the right thing by allowing trump to take office.

You're such a good person!

[–] [email protected] 10 points 4 days ago (1 children)

What did you do to hold Biden and the Democrats accountable? Forgot how many times the Biden administration vetoed ceasefire at the UN? Or how it sent bombs to Israel, and bombed Yemen to help it commit the genocide?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Love how you think this is some gotcha. Just say you wanted to watch kids burn. It's gotta be easier than all these mental gymnastics you're putting yourself though.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 days ago (1 children)

There really is no difference for Gaza between a Trump or Kamala presidency. Genocide is genocide regardless if it's fast or slow. The only real difference is now things are shitty in the US too instead of just Gaza

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Didn't Trump just divert 20,000 missiles to Israel that were intended for Ukraine? That seems like a different approach.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

People who wanted kids to run would've just kept voting Biden or Kamala. They were killing plenty of them. Don't think Trump has even reached those numbers yet, although in his defense, he hasn't been in office as long.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

Are you suggesting a Trump presidency is a better outcome for children in Palestine?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Children were being burnt while Biden was vetoing ceasefire and sending Israel the bombs.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

And the current administration is saying they want Gaza to not exist anymore. So round of applause to all you dumb ass mother fuckers, the extra children that are going to die and be displaced now sure are happy you get to feel self righteous.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 4 days ago (1 children)

I voted Kamala, but I still understood why people didn't. I saw it coming a mile away, while people like you plugged your ears and would rather ignore it. I was trying to save her campaign.

It wouldn't have but we wouldn't be getting plans to build a trump tower in its place because it's prime beach real estate

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Yes, the real problem here is the real estate development and not the deaths of millions of people.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How do you intend to avert the deaths of millions of people?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Lol are you saying that their deaths are inevitable?

Ideally the US would, you know, stop sending weapons and condemn Israel's actions, while putting pressure on other countries to do the same. At the very least.

Woke is understanding Malcolm X was a completely sane and logical human being.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

well, not that shocked.

[–] [email protected] 93 points 5 days ago (3 children)

Aaannd...

This is exactly why we are on our own. MAGAts are out to kill us/rob us, Dems are cowards that are more than happy to let us twist in the wind for whatever perceived benefit. A third party has basically no shot in our current system.

We are screwed.

🤦‍♀️ 🙄 🤡 🖕 💩

[–] [email protected] 23 points 5 days ago

The graves will be big enough for both Maga and democrats, fear not

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

We always for violence. Not advocating because I don't think we are quite there. But we should keep it in our back pocket and maybe remind the dems, whose addresses are easier to find then an ice agent's, that we have it.

They don't even want the soap on a rope.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 5 days ago

As someone who has lived in the US (and travelled extensively), but is not a US citizen, this is the kind of stuff that makes me believe that sane Americans are unfortunately incapable of getting their country back from the oligarchs and the racists.

If the Democrats were not corrupt and had balls (no sexism intended), they would be openly supporting the LA protests and trying to establish a Trump free zone in LA were Trump shills and lackeys would be interned and Trump "laws" would not be followed.

Unfortunately, most Americans are only good at talking about freedoms and most are too lazy and corrupt to actually follow through.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Well, shit. My rep is on the list. Just fired off an email to her office that some intern will read and increment a counter.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago

Not mine but two from my state? wtf?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 5 days ago

75 zionists in the Dems' ranks.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 5 days ago (1 children)

What exactly does ICE have to do with antisemitism? Ugh.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 days ago

The same thing opposition to netanyahu's genocide had to do with it.

Not a fucking thing, but democrats like voting with republicans and need an excuse.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

Rare W for my representative, continued L for their party.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 5 days ago

So now, people protesting ICE are anti-semites? Okrrr…

Good to know that the bar is always moving.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago

Let's put them on a list so it comes up in Google search in table format please

[–] [email protected] 15 points 5 days ago (1 children)

And yet if we talk about doing anything about it, the mods here ban us.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 days ago (6 children)

If your talk about doing anything about it includes suggestions of violence, then you’re right. It’ll get removed. This isn’t the place for that.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Where is the place for that? Not trying to be confrontational, but seriously. If we can't talk about actual solutions to fascism here on Lemmy, then how are we supposed to get organized?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 days ago (1 children)

In private. The hosts to these servers may face legal consequences from our very sane and level-headed regime for allowing anything close to calls to violence.

It makes sense that they'd cover their asses

If lemmy.world wants to be reddit so bad may as well just move back there?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If you’d like lemmy to remain available, you’d understand that we need to remove posts/comments that advocate for violence.

So, If you’re not willing to create your own personal social media platform where you can make your own rules, you’re going to have to follow the ones set by ToS.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Appreciate the response.

From my perspective, there's a reason why we're all using a decentralised, open source platform: to avoid censorship.

Otherwise it's just reddit with extra steps.
