Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I am 100% stealing this to use as a reaction. I anticipate using it a lot.

Is a cheetah even a type of leopard?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You could ask ChatGPT, but that would be cheetahing

No, cheetahs and leopards are not in the same genus.

Also apparently cheetahs don't / can't roar. TIL.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

They can meow and purr, though!

[–] [email protected] 81 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I'm so sick of hearing about this whiny little bitch.

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Hah! You’ve got AT LEAST three and a half more years to go.

Where were all you people in 2017?

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago

I was tired of him back in 2016 as well.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

Unfortunately, I was tired of him in the 80s. I never understood why people like that stupid game show he was given, either. Fair to say there were a lot of us that disliked this privileged little baby for a very long time...

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

As if he's ever leaving now

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

All of them.

[–] [email protected] 70 points 1 week ago (2 children)

This is one of the most dementia things I've seen yet.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just standard Trump rhetoric.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago
[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I think you mean demented.

And I don't know, his rant about Nikki Haley was full-blown 'confused old man lost in a mall' levels of bad.

"Don't start a fight with those who buy ink by the barrel."

If FOX "News" turns on him, it might get interesting again.

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 week ago (3 children)

I'm so tired of things being interesting

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Yeah. We had four years of calm and for a while there I could mostly tune out whatever TF donvict, his brain-dead supporters, or the likes of Faux/Murdoch thought about anything...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Give me fair and boring.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Remember the ancient Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times"...

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

There are already people who think NewsMax and their ilk are now correct and fox is wrong, so it may just be shifting.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

Won't happen. They both know they depend on each other.

[–] [email protected] 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

On the border:

NOBODY WAS ABLE TO COME IN LAST MONTH.

Cool. Not a single person crossed a distance of nearly 2000 miles. He knows this for a fact. He’s not sundowning, folks. He’s aging backward, Like Benjamin Button. He’s in his prime, or will be when he gets a little younger. What a great man!

Anyway, it’s fun to see him lash out at the people who support him. What a lunatic.

Oh yeah, hadn't even thought about that big beautiful wall (BBW) in a few years. Kinda got buried in the chaos. And

When I clicked on the link and saw the image of the wall that just abruptly ends, my mind auto played the music from Idiocracy

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago (3 children)

What the fuck is even happening in this administration.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago
[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago

Same thing that's been happening with the Republican party since Nixon. They create a monster, set it loose, the monster eats the faces of those who created it, and then the monster goes on to create an even worse monster. Repeat cycle endlessly.

Took Fox a while to be consumed by its offspring, but here we are I guess. Someday it'll be Truth Social's turn.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

It hurts itself in confusion

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wait.... Fox is still on the air? I thought they just transitioned to cabinet positions and closed the doors before the voting machine lawsuits paid out.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Only so they can familiarize their fanbase with new talking heads to later be installed in government.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 week ago (3 children)

How the fuck can they keep destroying relationships with their friends and still keep on going? Shouldn’t they have enough opposition by now to end this?

[–] [email protected] 35 points 1 week ago (1 children)

it's all bullshit dude. orchestrated deliberately timed reality tv soap opera bullshit to give the jerry springer audience something to hoot n' holler about while they continue to shred the constitution and shit all over it

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

Agreed. Whenever I hear of the latest internal MAGA feud (fElon, now Faux) it always brings to mind the old-school "professional" wrestling world. 100% scripted and acted-out. It gives the deplorables a "team" to identify with and emotionally bind to (pick a side, doesn't really matter which) so they can stomp and fume and indulge in fantasy violence while society and life continue to grind them down into dirt, pockets picked.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

Because its a cult that even trump doesn't control.

It comes up rarely for obvious reasons, but back during his first (ugh) term, he said something like "I like vaccines" and got straight up booed by the crowd. And that wasn't the only case where he had to rapidly backpedal to what the magats want to hear. trump is a symptom of a much greater evil.

So when fox news goes against trump? They are now the enemy and we were always at war with both Eastasia and fox news. And when they play the shows he likes? Now they are the best network in the world again. But there is no world where they actually sway the magats.

So that is why basically everyone bends over backwards to appease him and, by association, the magats. Because they have no other choice than... actually trying to fight the power.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Because the GOP, and wealthy of America in general, are all a bunch of cowards.

Seriously, it's that simple.

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 week ago (1 children)

"Rabid dog bites hand that feeds it"

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Exactly. The magamorons all feel that donvict "says what I think". There is a reason for that - donvict just ate up Faux "News" and parroted all that bilge right back at them, so he's basically a walking, talking Faux "News" show in politician format.

But I'm sure just like other things that donvict didn't actually build, he'll slap his name on it and think that he built it...

[–] [email protected] 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It’s just a fucking PR stunt. Like the bs Elon remarks.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I dunno, these fuckers turn on each other all the time. Where are Mike Pence and Rudy Guliani now?

I don't think they're smart enough to play 4D chess with PR.

They don't have anyone describable as "friends" because they're inherently unlikeable.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

"Fox and Frenemies" it is then.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago
[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

LOL, Faux built the army of magabrained zombies.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago

And Fox will still bend the knee. Republicans just can't help themselves. They follow the loudest bully and revel in his abuse.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Bite each other's dicks off.
