Customs and Border Protection has confirmed that, no, agents did not stop a Norwegian traveler who showed them a meme of a bald Vice President JD Vance.

“Fact Check: FALSE,” the CBP wrote on X. “Mads Mikkelsen was not denied entry for any memes or political reasons, it was for his admitted drug use.”

And no, the agency is not referring to Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen, but rather the similarly named 21-year-old who was denied entry at Newark Liberty International Airport on June 11.

A Norwegian newspaper got to see his letter of denial and it didn't list drug use at all. Rather they said he tried to enter the country to get a job illegally.

At this point, CBP's story keeps changing, and I don't trust anything they say.

[–] [email protected] 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

you just have to trust the meme.

[–] [email protected] 125 points 1 week ago (5 children)

The exact meme in case anyone wants to avoid it for um... Legal purposes.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago

MSNBC's report on it is on YouTube, plenty of people in the comments replaced their profile pictures with various versions of the meme and had a lot of fun with it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 6 days ago

Why are you all calling it a meme? It's literally his real face

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago

Under no circumstances should you share this image. We must send this to everyone we know to be absolutely certain all our friends and family know about this so they don't unknowingly have it on their phone. It's our patriotic duty to share this with as many people as possible.

I read your username as ChinWeasel and thought heh, username checks out oddly enough.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

It obviously says ChanWhistle

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I do in fact want to "avoid it" for legal purposes.

[–] [email protected] 76 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What a shit show.

Europeans, this is the best time to troll America right now.

[–] [email protected] 42 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I think Americans are trolled enough by Trump and his administration.
It's pretty hard to measure up to that level of trolling. It's so bad they are trolling people to death over there!

Haha no more medicare for you! lol
Haha your papers are wrong, away to Venezuela you go. lol
Haha Your pregnancy is putting your life in danger, but no doctor will help you. lol
Haha you complained about high prices under biden, but I (Trump) will make them even higher, with no wage compensation. lol
Americans are having a blast with how funny things are now.

Heh *cough* That's a pretty good impression of us.
*cough cough, holds out disposable coffee cup fished from the trash* Got any spare healthcare? I promise I'm gonna use it for drugs!

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh poor man, of course you can have some spare healthcare, you just have to migrate to get it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Sounds expensive. Maybe I can just get a tan and get myself deported?

I'm American. I'll always take the easy way.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

At least Americans can still shit on England and the French! That's about it though...

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Good luck with that. This is like Freedom Fries idiocy x1000.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Okay, that's pretty ridiculous. Y'all seemed to take my joke about making fun of the French and English a little seriously. I mean the unserious shitting on. Like the French eating snails. And the fact that beans on toast is a thing.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Beans are delicious, toast is delicious, garlic butter is delicious and snails are a super weird delivery vehicle for that. I guess the French should always be a target.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

I mean, ice cream is good. Pizza is good. Doesn't mean that they should be together. Lighthearted criticism is always pretty good. Us Americans have plenty of serious and light hearted criticisms made about us. The French and British are the only ones that compare in the lighthearted category. Let me make fun of the baguette eaters and Shittertonians.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Fr*nch, if you don't mind. There could be children reading this!

I want to change his portrait on wikipedia to this

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That would be vandalism... but there's probably a section where it would be perfectly legitimate, like "Controversies"

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just add an "In media" section

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Summarise it neatly and add good reference links.

Be the change you want to see in the world

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago

This is the most possible exposure the meme could get. Guaranteed JD saw it. Sucks for the Norwegian but absolutely hilarious that the fascists have to acknowledge unflattering pictures.

when someone says this chapter in history books is going to be wild....this.

this is what I imagine the pages filled with.

[–] [email protected] 26 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I hope this gets its own Wikipedia article.

Great way of spreading the meme, whether or not this is true, I say well played!

Streisand Effect strikes again

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yeah I don't believe their cover story.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Government was trying to kidnap a guy in a Colorado town, there's an emergency response network to shut those shits down, and they did. The government morons retroactively tried to claim he was wanted for terrible crimes he did in Italy and was from El Salvador. Of course, there was no record of this being true in any of those countries, even the FBI's most wanted list was devoid of this supposed bad guy. (I'm sure they'll be sure to create fake dossiers in the future.)

Now, because of that, all the news was polluted with "These people did bad and stopped the FBI from doing good," when the headlines should read, "Hero Activists Save a Person from Treasonous Thugs Violating the Constitution." The government will probably refer to the news articles as circular logic proof that it was real at some point.

Troubling times, they've always lied, of course, the lies are just so much more toxic nonsense and there is less desire than ever to pursue facts or truth, as long as the evil deed is done. America is cooked.

Send help, or set up refugee programs, everyone else, we need it

Interesting how they always find a convenient scape goat.
