If he wins, the dem establishment is fucking joever. It will show that people will actually vote for candidates that behave like empathetic human beings and the democratic and republican parties have very few of those.

If they can't bury him with their capital, ownership of media, etc ... They will murder him.

Let's not delude ourselves here. We're taking about a collective of megalomaniacs, psychopaths, and narcissists who wage wars and commit genocide on behalf of the almighty dollar. They have no problem mass murdering babies. Murdering millions of innocent civilians is of no consequence to these demons. Neutralizing some elected socialist is nothing more than a line item on a Tuesday morning to them.

I'm not suggesting anyone back down. I'm suggesting you need to know your enemy, and be prepared to act accordingly. They'll murder everyone sympathetic to leftism before they let socialism redistribute their wealth.

Literally this lol, rip JFK. The problem is that the masses will never support a revolutionary uprising unless a peaceful one has been tried and beaten down.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

No no, only if you want to restrict nuclear weapons to the Chosen People will that happen.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Isn’t that, by itself, a good thing?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

It is certainly better than doing nothing. But be prepared for establishment ghouls siding with Republicans more openly to suddenly get "stuff zone".

“You have to be a lion, to be able to be the lamb you really want to be.”

“There is ONE way out.”

Murder is so gauche in our era of media manipulation and attention nano-spans.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (2 children)

People often say like "You can't just shoot trump, you'll make him a martyr and hyper energize his base!" I don't know if that's true. I like to think that if Zohran was assassinated, people would push harder for his vision and legacy. But a lot of people are also kind of just.. not all the way here.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Trumps following is quite cult-like, so there's a chance. But I think it's very likely that, even if they continue to idolize trump, the movement will be extremely split instead of rallying behind one person.

I'm honestly kinda surprised no one has tried again, take some inspiration from ukraine and it seems very hard for him to actually be safe from attempts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

the first 2-3 times were allegedly staged, so thats why there isnt anymore attempts.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Difference is Trump is much more on national level. Bigger game.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

i have a feel hochul and the state legislature might try to neuter his powers if he is elected.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You can make your point without using slurs.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Psychpath and nrcissist are both slurs. They're not in the DSM, they're shorthands for stigmatised disorders.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This may be one of the strangest takes I've heard online.

Narcissism is not a slur. Being a narcissist is not just being self-centred, or being predisposed to not empathise as much with others.

It's a label placed on those who are self-centred, and unempathetic to others who have the ability to do so. They are negligent.

No one (reasonable) is out here claiming self-centred behaviours from someone who has a disorder is being a narcissist.

Narcissist is not a slur.

Psychopath? I dunno. Still, who the hell are you being offended on behalf of? Who is out there being offended by either of these words? No one, no one identifies with either of these words, because they carry implications of intent.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So, are you one of the people who thinks we call selfish people n*rcissists because it's a mental disorder and using mental health terms to insult people is groovy? Or are you one of the people who thinks we do it because that 16 year old from the Greek myth who didn't want to date anyone was an arrogant git and deserved to die for selfishly keeping his body from the world?

Because those are the only two options. Either the word comes from the mental disorder, or from the pedophile myth. And they both suck.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

So, are you one of the people who thinks we call selfish people n*rcissists because it's a mental disorder

What? No? Did you read my comment?

16 year old from the Greek myth who didn't want to date anyone was an arrogant git and deserved to die for selfishly keeping his body from the world?

Are you aware that meanings of words, and how they're used, change?

I'm gonna just have to assume this is ragebait

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm asexual, and I'm not comfortable with you using a word that has been used to attack other asexuals and aromatics for thousands of years. Not to mention the way you're implicitly supporting pedophilia. If you didn't know, then it would be forgivable, but you know now, and you still choose to use the aphobic, pedophilic word. So I think something is flawed in your ability to tell right from wrong, and in your ability to exercise kindness.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This has got to be ragebait. If not, I'd strongly encourage you to update your personal vocabulary to be in line with modern use of narcissist, so you don't need to be offended.

You're getting offended about a word being used because of its origin, a word who's meaning has changed since it's coining.

Should people stop using "queer" now too? Even though the connotations have changed and are no longer negative (well, this is somewhat in the process of changing, there are still fuckwits who use it negatively).

I know people say this on the internet a lot, but there's some grass outside in some desperate need of touching.

People are not using narcissist in the way you're getting offended over. I can confidently say that the vast, vast majority of people don't even know it has anything to do with sexuality. Most people have no idea where the word comes from.

Its origin is now a historical curiosity, as is all etymology.

It's like you're going out of your way to be upset over something no one is intending.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Why can't you just use another word?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Because you're the first person I've ever encountered, and I'm willing to bet the last, who's offended by this word.

If things change, as language does, and your position gains any traction, and the word really does start to mean what you alone think it currently means, then I will happily stop. Currently the implications you're asserting exist with its use, simply don't for the vast majority of its users.

This isn't anything like pronouns, or names, which are personal, I'm happy to call people anything that makes them happy.

This is a meaning of a word, and language is constantly evolving. It's used to communicate, and I'm not going to stop using a word because one rando on the internet has decided it means something no one else thinks it means.

For real, stop being offended by something simply because of historical meanings.

Next minute you're going to be mad about me using the word "enthusiast" because it had negative connotations in the 1600s, or whatever other random example you can think of.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The word has negative connotations today. It's an insult.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

It is negative, but it's not insulting based on someone's sexuality! (Edit: I'm assuming you're referring to narcissist, not enthusiast)

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

WHY is it insulting to call someone a Greek asexual boy?

Because people spent thousands of years hating that teenage boy for not putting out.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am aware of the historical origin. I did not previously in all honesty, so at least thanks for making me aware, I do rather enjoy etymology. However, this word no longer has these connotations which you're taking offence over.

I'm sorry that the origin of this word is painful for you, but no one is intending harm toward you or intending to degrade your sexuality by using this word.

People use it to describe someone who's being negligently self-centred and unempathetic. People simply don't associate it with sexuality, at all.

I understand because of your personal circumstances, and no doubt real discrimination you've faced, this word is a sore point for you.

However, if it's any consolation, for this one word in particular, you do not have to be sore, the meaning of the word has changed since it's origin.

You can either accept that or not.

You know I saw Disney's Hercules last year. Hadn't seen it as a kid. Lots of bad mythology in that movie, but it all follows the pop culture tropes and common understandings. Zeus is a great father and husband because he's the king, and cause he looks like Yahweh. Hades is a bitter scheming homosexual because of Lucifer.

But the worst part of the movie was a five second joke about Narcissus. His death is turned into a punchline. And he's drawn as a full grown man, making kissy lips into a mirror. You want to hear the version from actual mythology?

Narcissus, who according to Ovid was sixteen, was repeatedly proposed marriage by this guy, Ameinias. He wouldn't take no for an answer. Narcissus just wanted to go out into the woods and be alone and hunt, but Ameinias kept bothering him. So Narcissus told Ameinias to go kill himself. If I were a teenage boy being sexually harassed? I'd do that too. Perfectly normal reaction.

But Ameinias actually does it. And as he's stabbing himself, he prays. He wants Narcissus to suffer, too. He says "Though he should love, let him not have what he loves". And Nemesis answers his prayer. Nemesis is the goddess in charge of punishing mortals for hubris. For acting like they're the equals of the gods. Why would Nemesis punish someone for being mean to a sex pest? Well, as near as I can tell, the Greek cultural interpretation of asexuality/aromanticism is that it's a form of selfishness. They thought Narcissus was avoiding marriage because he wanted to keep his body to himself, out of arrogance. That's what they thought all asexuals were.

So Nemesis decides to punish Narcissus, and SHE makes him fall in love with his reflection. She turns him into what you call a "n*rcissist", as a punishment for being asexual.

Oh, and by the way? Narcissus was born because his mother was raped. Her name was Liriope. The rapist's name was Cephissus. Yeah, if I were carrying intergenerational rape trauma, I'd get pretty fucking angry about sexual harassment too.

This is your history.

Good. Sometimes I fantasize about getting into local politics but have been fearful I’m not self centered enough to be successful. This gives me hope.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago

Dont need to be self centered. Its not about you. But your community!

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least in all the giant cities with ranked choice voting.

Still gonna be tight in Amarillo.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Ok, so here's why anyone to the left of manchin can't win anywhere else.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I imagine the one thing most needed to get into Democratic politics is to pretend to kowtow to them. Promise you’ll vote for their antisocial policies. Then don’t, and say it’s because you need to build up public goodwill, and the vote they wanted wasn’t going to pass anyway, etc.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

so pulling a reverse fetterman?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

They'll probably sink so low as to assange him, ie fake rape allegations. Just watch.

See, opposing israel is not a political suicide

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Should be noted this is a fan account, his official one is @ZohranKMamdani

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 week ago

I choose to believe this is false.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

This one has a blue checkmark.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

So it's definitely not him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

You pay for those now, it's not verification of anything (other than that you're a nazi who proudly supports elon)

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

It's wild to me that it's so controversial for a politician to criticize this.

Very obvious war crimes and ethnic cleansing

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Capitalism is amoral, meaning it can lead to some real immoral behaviour when monied interests want it that way. It can be wielded to contend with the will of the people, making it a potential enemy to democracy.

The intermediary is supposed to be government. Supposed to be...

[–] [email protected] 17 points 1 week ago

"soldiers ordered"

soldiers willingly participated in war crimes. soldiers willingly MURDERED unarmed civilians.

absolute scum.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 week ago

That's not him dude.
