In feudal times it was common for the Lord of the land to give money to the people living there.
When the landlord says "just the tip" that's not what that alluding to

Yeah, that's not happening. Not nearly as fun as tipping cows.
Just be careful not push too hard and tip over too or you may fall onto manure

Honestly - I get a tiny jolt of claustrophobia every time I see this image.
Depressing and also nightmare fuel for anyone with an ounce of claustrophobia.
What an awful way to go.
