edit: Damn, I got educated. I don't watch/know what The View is, but Whoopi kind of sucks.
She says the reason young people don't own homes is a shitty work ethic, not that they're unaffordable.
I love Guinan, but Whoopie can fuck off.
Last thing she said that pissed everyone off was that all millennials who can't afford a house are just lazy. There has been other things but...that alone shows who she is at her core.
On the topic of young people unable to buy a home, Whoopi said to her co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin:
"You got to go out and get a job...I know you're young, but here's what it is. You work, and you can afford a house. And you can go and get one."
She's not wrong though. Houses in the middle of bumfuck nowhere are cheap as dirt, but nobody wants those.
While there are good reasons for being against buying that kind of housing, it's still technically correct.
It's not that nobody "wants" those. If I could work remotely I wouldn't give a fuck living in the middle of nowhere, actually I would prefer it. But then how do I commute? I'd have to buy a car because I would have no public transport, would lose a lot of time commuting, and you know what? Even in the middle of nowhere the rent prices are just like 30% lower in my area. So I'd end up spending more money on gas and more time commuting.
All good reasons.
She is wrong though, people would move there if they could but they can't and that is far from the only reason to regard this rich entitled asshole as a rich entitled asshole.
Feel free to check out for yourself her defense of a guy who drugged and ass-raped a 13 year old girl or what she thinks about Jewish people: She is a well rounded shitbag these days, maybe money and fame did it or maybe she was just always like this, but it's pretty hard to deny at this point.

She changed her last name to 'Goldberg' because her mother said that she should since Jews run Hollywood (she has changed this story more recently and claims she took the name in honor of a Jewish ancestor).
