If I had to settle for Florence Pugh, I feel like things wouldn't be too bad.
Would she do the sarcastic Yelena accent from Black Widow, though? I'm torn between whether the sarcasm is sexy, funny, or absolutely the best accent to sarcastically read all the world news, and maybe sarcastically is just how I need my news from now on.

Ah yes, romance, the biggest part of Dune plots
Dune is two love stories; Leto and Jessica, and Paul and Chani. Without Jessica's betrayal of the Bene Gesserit because of her love for Leto there wouldn't be a story. Or at least not this story.
3 love stories. The third is between a worm and his spice.
Four? Dr. Yueh's live for his wife produced the betrayal of the Atreides.
But I stan the Worm/Spice ship.
Fifth. Later in the novels you have ghola Duncan's weird, kinky love/hate relationship with Murbella.
Jessica’s betrayal of the Bene Gesserit
is it a betrayal, or did she do exactly what was meant to happen and made it so the kwanzaa hashden was produced at exactly the right generation, that even the mothers superior didn't see coming?
The book covered this. Jessica was supposed to have borne a daughter who would have been paired with Feyd Rautha to produce the Kwisatz Haderach. Paul was a wildcard who was outside the Bene Gesserit control - remember when the Reverend Mother was angry that Jessica was teaching Paul BG secrets? The BG had Lady Fenring seduce Feyd to maintain the bloodline in case they wanted to have another crack at it.
Spoiler: they did not want another crack at it by the time Leto II was done with them.
Right, but I'm saying that Leto 2 (or 3) is the kaketown homeboy because he saw the golden path , turned into a worm and ruled for a bajillennium.
Edit: and the Benelux confederation suck because they didn't realise this.
I'm pretty sure there can be more than one, in the books it talks about how others tried too. Sounded like the Bene Tleilax had at least one.

Batman is one of the ancestors Alia is talking to, but that will first be made clear in Children of Dune 🤫

More importantly, you can know this and it still won't spoil the movie. If your knowledge of Dune is only the first movie, then whatever you think this detail means is probably wrong.

Is it a coincidence or is it the sort of old fashioned pairing like Rock Hudson and Doris Day, Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable, or William Powell and Myrna Loy?
I'm going to say it's the latter regardless because I think that's a tradition that should have continued.
