That was pretty awesome. I don't have any context, but seeing plain clothed civilians shout "get the fuck out of here you fucking Nazis" to a bunch of masked and hooded assholes in full military fatigues brings a smile to my face.

You'll also notice, in that Solo Stove abomination of a state, a distinct lack of cyclists. Because for huge chunks of the year, it's way, way too hot outside to walk or ride a bike the incredible distances necessary to go anywhere.

Source: I grew up in that molten pile of racism.

I agree with you because it's my anecdotal life experience. I'm quite successful in terms of my career and finances. I'm pretty good looking and outgoing. I'm also a single dad and I'm in a nearly year-long dry spell. My self esteem is awful. Not having sex is torture for me and it has nothing to do with societal norms. It's just biological misery.

It's incredibly high quality journalism. I'm so proud of my fellow countrymen for supporting it directly. I listen to it daily - multiple times throughout the day. I've donated once or twice, but I need to reduce my debt before I'm comfortable signing up for a monthly commitment.

Schadenfreude is a shit consolation prize.

I mean, I'll take it, but it's still shit.

As a homeowner - I 100% agree with this.

I absolutely hate that I paid as much as I did simply because the generation before mine decided to turn the whole concept of home ownership into a financial investment vehicle.

I hate how it changes the thought processes around the decisions I make in regards to my home.

I hate how it impacts the relationships with my neighbors and how it morphs the very conversations we have. That it has drastically changed the type of people who would otherwise have wanted to live in the community and be a part of it instead of just trying to ride the wave investment dollars.

I hate that it means my own children, once grown, will likely be unable to afford to live in this neighborhood - even if they rent. And I hate that it's going to become their problem too.
