I've lived in Escondido now for just two years. So still trying to find the best of everything in the North County. What are your favorite:

*Mexican restaurants / cafes

*Asian restaurants

*Ice cream shops

*Festivals

I especially like the Friday nite car show on Grand Ave, and the Renaissance Faire in Felicity County Park. Definitely looking for more things to do in the area.

edit: lists aren't working for me

Excellent (lemmy.sdf.org)

I've been looking for the communities I'm missing from that other site, and /sandiego is one of them. It seems that for now there are very few geographic location related communities. It's nice to have for people to ask all kinds of questions, from new comers to looking for types of restaurants to mentions of festivals...

Best burrito place in north county?

Excellent post, thanks. It looks like one of the bigger issues is with images, since they're significantly larger than text. I wonder if it's possible to disable image uploads, and just require links.

It did cross my mind if I could have one of my raspberry pis run it. Actually, if it is possible I'd do on an Odroid N2+. Hmm...

I'd like to contribute to the Lemmy community. I've been running my own private Linux servers for more than 25 years for things like email (years ago before all the spam), and as file servers, backup, etc. It's an old, not very powerful computer, running Ubuntu server, in a corner in my house. Is it worth running a Lemmy instance on such a machine? I suppose there'd also be issues of how much data is going in and out, and how that would impact my internet cable usage. Thoughts?

I just sub to the most popular one assuming it'll be the one to win out.

How do you get Diablo 4 to install on Linux? Any help appreciated.

The Commodore 64 was my second computer, after the Timex Sinclair 1000. Good times, but moving on :)
