Regenerative Agriculture / Permaculture

If you plan to lease out to a farmer, find one that won't fill it with herbicides and pesticides. And maybe look to only lease part of it while you work to recover other parts.

I'm looking to buy land that needs to be recovered and have the budget that will likely lead me to a place like this that doesn't have direct road access. Good luck!

Same boat here (PNW big bearded dude). I actually got handed a 'White Pride's card last week. Before I had the full beard nobody ever said racists shit to me unless it was accusatory. Now they think I'm on their side.

Doesn't help that I'm into survivalism, permaculture, and off-grid living. I'm constantly fighting the algorithm that wants to feed me ultra conservative bullshit.

As a manual driver living in Seattle and driving a large truck, I can say it's totally unnecessary if you have the right skills. The handbrake start is a handicap unless you're Dr ving a vehicle with a worn out clutch.

I had a Rambler Ambassador that came with push-button shifting on the dash!

Seemed pretty busy. I won't know actual numbers until I run my reports today.

As a retail manager it was business as usual, except an extra amount of Trump supporters being extra vocal about why they came out to 'stick it to the libs'. We actually did more business that day than we did the prior year.

A one day event isn't a boycott of you just give the same people the money the next day. If you want to make a difference, you have to make bigger waves. Stop shopping at Walmart forever. Don't buy another Nestle product. Cancel your Amazon prime and start buying local.

They can be very exclusive. I've seen first hand many gay men absolutely hate on people in the trans community. In my experience if you don't fit into one of their pre-assigned roles then you aren't welcome. Also, those of us that don't make our sexuality a primary part of our personality are often dismissed as 'others'.

Tribalism comes in many forms.

Little known facts:

  • Having 9 inches is considered 'being hung'.

  • Jesus was crucified by 'being hung from 9' inch nails.

  • Nine inch nails brings you 'closer to god'.

  • This is also why cats have 9 lives.

  • 9

I hadn't even considered that. I guess I've been lucky with all of my past trades? I did some looking at information and studies from several universities.

I'll probably still trade because most of it can be treated. I know I save and offer good seeds, but I'll likely check any seeds I get or treat them to be sure.

If anyone else is interested, here is a link to a PDF that had some of the better information on treating seeds.

Make sure to avoid the 'easter eggers' man. Those ones are laid by rabbits!

I was a participant in the 'other site' when there was an active seed trading sub. Is there a Lemmy equivalent or is that something we could do in this group?
