1. Relevant commentary on your own dull life. Posts should be about your own dull, lived experience. This is our most important rule. Direct questions, random thoughts, comment baiting, advice seeking, many uses of “discuss” rarely comply with this rule.

2. Original, Fresh, Meaningful Content.

3. Avoid repetitive topics.

4. This isn't an advice forum

Use a search engine, a tradesperson, Reddit, friends, a specialist Facebook group, apps, Wikipedia, an AI chat, a reverse image search etc. to answer simple questions or identify objects. Also see rule 1, “comment baiting”.

There are a number of content specific communities with subject matter experts who can help you.

Some other communities to consider before posting:

5. Keep it dull. If it puts us to sleep, it’s on the right track. Examples of likely not dull: jokes, gross stuff (including toes), politics, religion, royalty, illness or injury, killing things for fun, or promotional content. Feel free to post these elsewhere.

6. No hate speech, sexism, or bullying No sexism, hate speech, degrading or excessively foul language, or other harmful language. No othering or dehumanizing of anyone or negativity towards any gender identity.

7. Proofread before posting. Use good grammar and punctuation. Avoid useless phrases. Some examples: - starting a post with “So” - starting a post with pointless phrases, like “I hope this is allowed” or “this is my first post” Only share good quality, cropped images. Do not share screenshots of images; share the original image.

I was lazy, so only did the side mirrors and both front door windows.

I usually just use gas station squeegees, so using the Windex and a cloth towel was a step up and got it really clean.

It's so nice looking out the side mirrors. I keep looking at them and marveling at how nice the world looks. Like when a person gets their first pair of glasses and sees the world in detail for the first time.

It's been a week and I'm still smiling about the clear view. Luckily it hasn't rained in that time.

I only get rain, no snow, so I keep telling myself the side mirror rain guards aren't useful at all for me.

It was pretty uneventful but i guess that's a good thing. Was just a small tree growing into a power line

I had like almost 100 uncategorized bookmarks, and whatever was already categorized could use some finetuning as well. So I spent about 1-2 hours on making my browser's bookmark bar really neat.

I deleted bookmarks which weren't relevant anymore and added some more bookmark folders to make everything less cluttered. The sites I want to access quickly is only one click away, the rest is buried in folders. It's synced so everything is stored safely in the cloud.

I'm happy with this, I could still find my stuff but this is an improvement.

I bought an 8 pound (3.6 kg) chicken the other day. I partially deboned it, placing the wing tips, neck, and carcass into a stock pot with some vegetables and aromatics, and made some stock, and set aside the meat.

Dinner 1: One boneless breast, probably about 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg), got cut up into cubes to cook into a soup noodle dish (think fancy ramen, but lazier).

Dinner 2: The 2 thighs, 2 drumsticks, 2 wing drumettes, 2 wing flats were deep fried (breaded for the big pieces, naked for the wing parts) and served as fried chicken with some sides.

Dinner 3: The remaining boneless breast was cut up into cubes for a homemade kung pao, using a modified recipe from Kenji Lopez Alt. I served it with rice and a separate stir fried broccoli dish.

Each meal fed me, my spouse, my 2 young kids (who eat slightly smaller portions). I didn't set out to be frugal with it, but I think each meal cost less than $10 for 4 portions. And I managed to pull it off on weeknights after work, after picking up my kids from school/daycare, so I'm pretty proud of that.

Forgot I had to give my dog an unexpected bath yesterday and used all the clean towels

I always save the soap bar scraps, today I got to combine them

I had to replace the leather strap handles on a chest today. Just had to pry the old nails out, cut down my old belt, and reinstall.

I guess it's officially time to recommence the yearly grind of yard maintenance. We didnt even get to enjoy a respite, with all the snow we had.

Had to grab (junk) food for my study breaks the last few days but managed to prep something today.

Not at all what I expected. It's just a big metal frame covered with wood planks, mats, and canvas.

Worked on a friend's AC power adapter, the cord had gotten cut. Just a simple two-wire cord, nothing too complicated.

Didn't do a perfect job with the heat shrink tubing, but still made good connections and it'll be safe to use.

Wish I had upgraded my soldering iron sooner. The old one didn't heat nearly as evenly as this one.

Went to a running shoe store and they got me measured up and fitted. Bought some insoles since they said it could help with my plantar fasciitis.

I guess I feel less pain at the end of the day. I hope it will be better once I get new shoes.

Reached for a paper towel and left two thumb sized tears in the towel.

I’ve used it for a week so far, and I’m still not sure if it feels better than the old one.

It's neat, that I could take one piece without wetting the others.

Because it was taking up too much room. I put it off for awhile.

Noticed the lower arm of the dishwasher was in the same spot several washes in a row, so I got suspicious of the gap between that top nut and the arm. It looked like a lot of water could slip past. I found a small washer that fit almost perfectly in a junk box in the garage and now it seems to be working better.

They usually come in the afternoon, but I like to put it out the night before so I don't forget. One house has their recycling out, but I'm pretty sure that's next week.

I often feel tired and the sleepy around 2-4 pm and I’ll take a nap. They’re usually an hour or two long.

I thought the food would spoil soon, so I finished the rest today.
