In fairness, she canonically knew Scarecrow the longest, and he gave her directions, helped her get some really yummy apples, and wisely brought a gun into the forest to protect her. Still a dick move, though.

The Tin Man's heart shrunk three sizes that day.

He got it just in time to be broken.

Back then people were a lot less neurotic about never hurting anyone’s feelings

“Neurotic” is not a good thing to be

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Sure. People aren't neurotic in this context. This situation is what's commonly called a "you problem".

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago (2 children)

No, being unwilling to tell someone “I missed you the most” for fear of hurting others’ feelings is indeed neurotic. It’s too much, unhelpful, inhibits communication and expression of perfectly healthy emotions.

I like conversing with other people more than you.

lol chef's kiss

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

no it's not. caring about other people's feelings is normal human behavior. stop this nonsense and work on your mirror neurons.

Every time i see an image of this movie i am reminded that they used asbestos snow which resulted in the deaths of all the actors iirc

Edit: evidently only scarecrow maybe died due to asbestos

[–] [email protected] 18 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

Looks like only the scarecrow died from it (and his cancer may not have even been caused by the asbestos)

  • Tiny Dinky Daffy (Baby of the Year 1928): Died on March 14, 2019, pancaked by drunk dump truck driver at age 92.

Damn heart attacks are dangerous, appreciate the info. I corrected my comment

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

The whole production was a giant trainwreck. The asbestos is only a small part of it

[–] [email protected] 6 points 4 months ago

Tinman almost died on set due to the unsafe body paint, too iirc

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I have heard lf the asbestos use, but did they actually die from it?

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Dorothy playing favourites caused a rash of victims in suicide forest on their way to the Emerald City

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

That's a damn crane or heron or whatever.

It's a bird.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago (1 children)

If you've seen the, err, adult version of the story you'd understand why.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Every time I close my eyes I think of Mars and Venus. And anytime I start to dream I want to suck a -- hey! A Big Red apple!

[–] [email protected] 11 points 4 months ago

That one's a no-brainer

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

That's because in the cut version of the script there was a Dorothy/Scarecrow romance plot

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago

He has no brains, so he will believe her.
