Pop country sucks across the board imo

[–] acosmichippo@lemmy.world 68 points 2 months ago (6 children)

country singer is MAGA, water is wet, more at 11.

[–] Catoblepas@lemmy.blahaj.zone 86 points 2 months ago

The Chicks (formerly the Dixie Chicks) didn’t tank their career for that kind of slander.

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 52 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Real Country singers couldn't be more opposite to MAGA. I mean, could you ever imagine Cash simping for this lot?

John fucking denver

[–] ShepherdPie@midwest.social 20 points 2 months ago

Real country died out a long time ago at least in the mainstream.

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 17 points 2 months ago

Willie Nelson?

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 2 months ago

Failed pop stars turned country is MAGA.

[–] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Do you think country music artists are mostly conservative?

[–] ShepherdPie@midwest.social 15 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I think they'll portray themselves as conservatives whether they are or aren't. Mainstream artists typically have corporate-crafted personas that they have to stick to in order to stay relevant for their target demographic.

[–] NineMileTower@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

I think you are right. I also think a lot of traits that country music stars portray are seen as conservative type traits.

Cowboy hat and boots, dirt road, cold beer and so forth.

Trash person is trash.

Imagine being a woman supporting the removal of your rights over your own body, as well as every other woman.

This creature is braindead.

I'll continue my streak of never hearing one of her songs.

"I'm rich, the problems of the poor don't affect me so why should I care? Republicans want to let me keep every last penny and that's all I care about."

-Assholes like her, probably.

“I stand with Aaron Rodgers,” the former Nashville Predators captain wrote

I guess nominative determinism is for hockey teams too? 🤷

You may remember in nineteen ninety eight when she threw mankind off hell in a cell and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 24 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're thinking of the Undertaker. I think she was a quirky RPG where a boy had to navigate a world of monsters.

[–] Godort@lemm.ee 22 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You're thinking of Undertale. She's a JavaScript variable that hasn't been assigned a value.

[–] hakase@sh.itjust.works 11 points 2 months ago (2 children)

You're thinking of gobbledygook. She's the name Frodo went by when he was in Bree.

[–] Chocrates@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

You're thinking of Underhill. She's what Pubg used to be called.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

(undeclared)

Another reality TV loser from 2 decades ago.

Generic pop-country singer.

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Just shouting out Willie Carlisle for anyone wanting good country without the conservative ick

[–] Fredselfish@lemmy.world 11 points 2 months ago

Carrie Underwood is a cunt. Was told how she was a straight up stuck up cunt all her life. That by someone who went to high-school with her. Even Tony Romo said she was a bitch, why he broke up with her.

Also the town she from very Trump country so no surprise she lean that way.

[–] jaggedrobotpubes@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Never knew she was shit. Now, I do.

Today I have learned something.

[–] Numenor@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago

She does have the Fox blonde look

[–] SplashJackson@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 months ago

I would let her writhe around on top of me, but I would put in no particular effort myself.

And no kissing!

[–] Vaggumon@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

She took the wheel back from Jesus and ran the hoopty right into a brick wall at 90+.
