Complains about f.word to account with shit in the name.

[โ€“] RamblingPanda 31 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Yeah, they can go eat a fucking ameno... anenomy? ANEMONE!

[โ€“] 0x0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 2 months ago (2 children)

And originally posted by knifemilf. Actually, I have no idea what that UI is telling me.

I speak Tumblr, let me translate:

Royalslimefather reblogged it from knifemilf, who reblogged it from someone else. The OP could be thousands of chain reblogs down, so it doesn't matter who. But if you go back far enough in that chain, you get to Marine biologist shitposts's response.

The way Tumblr works is like if Twitter had comment chains instead of quote-tweeting.

I have no idea what that UI is telling me.

That the people of tumblr (tumblers? Tumblrs? Daves and Debbies?) have some serious username skills ๐Ÿ˜

So, is Shit a common surname in the anglosphere?

[โ€“] SandLight@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I don't know about as a whole, but the small town I'm from has at least one family of Shitheads on every block.

[โ€“] Comment105@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

If people were still named after their professions, there's lots of people around who'd have that surname.

[โ€“] blackbrook@mander.xyz 124 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think it would have been better with another f-word, but apparently they didn't give two fucks.

[โ€“] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 75 points 2 months ago

Calling it the F word while telling someone to grow up is such a bitch move.

[โ€“] don@lemm.ee 31 points 2 months ago

Okay, Ordi, time to cut this childish shit out and be a fucking adult for once in your goddamn life.

[โ€“] CaptainBlagbird@lemmy.world 29 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Ordi probably is a person that bans books because it contains a part where two guys kiss

[โ€“] Zerush@lemmy.ml 17 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Too much fucking Flanders in the world. A historic word used since almost 600 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuck

[โ€“] idunnololz@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Wait what organism is this talking about.

[โ€“] Comment105@lemm.ee 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I believe it's technically anemany.

[โ€“] MBM@lemmings.world 4 points 2 months ago
[โ€“] M137@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

... seriously? Not just that it's a very well-known thing, it's right there in the image. And you decided to show everyone you're dumb with that comment instead of looking it up, which would have taken the same or less time. You managed to cram several levels of stupidity into such a short comment, it's kinda impressive.

[โ€“] stevedice@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago

And answering the question would have also taken less time than your rant. Instead you decided to show everyone how wildly unlikable you are.

[โ€“] Allero@lemmy.today 9 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (2 children)

Ordi might be wrong in their approach to the correction, but our communications are, indeed, littered with words that are meant to emphasize something, but are instead so commonplace that they don't mean anything anymore.

Fucking. Literally. Really. Actually. Insane. Unbelievable. Bizarre. Big. You name it.

In an era of everyone constantly screaming on the Internet while sitting there on the couch with zero emotions, it would make sense to step down and revisit the way we approach the language - and our experiences when facing such content.

The joke would absolutely be better off without the word "fucking".

[โ€“] pufferfischerpulver@feddit.org 20 points 2 months ago

Nah, fuck that. It's an account with shit post in the name. They can use the fucking word without an analysis of contemporary communications.

[โ€“] Antiproton@programming.dev 6 points 2 months ago

Easy there, Maude.

Not only was the use of the word actually contextually appropriate for literally producing emphasis, it was also fucking funny.

Maybe the problem here is the bizarre attempt at pedantry while consuming a meme. Not just a meme, but a meme about a meme. Unbelievable failure.

[โ€“] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The swearing does make it seem like an eleven year old who doesn't understand swearing wrote it.

[โ€“] sunglocto@lemmy.zip 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I FUCKING love these FUCKING clownfish they FUCKING look so FUCKING cool and SHIT they are FUCKING awesome and they are FUCKING great

FUCK

[โ€“] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I know you're trying to do a bit. But you seem to have misunderstood my comment. so I'll explain.

It's the use of the word fuck but it's placement. It doesn't fit and makes the sentence rather awkward. Hence why I said it was written by an eleven year old discovering swearing and not understanding it.

[โ€“] Antiproton@programming.dev 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It fits perfectly well. The placement changes the emphasis subtly.

"That's a tall fucking building"

"That's a fucking tall building"

The second calls the listener's attention to the emphasized aspect whereas the first might reference the height in relation to other aspects... but would be more context dependent than the second form.

[โ€“] crowbar@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Would it be better if it's written as "a deadly fucking sea organism"?

[โ€“] abbadon420@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Helll no, cash me ousside
