That yellow sweater was making her drowsy.

[–] [email protected] 21 points 3 weeks ago

It could be the blue shirt keeping her awake. In any case, switching is recommended

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

It's thick and warm. That's why.

I'd find it hard to get any good night's rest when 4 rambunctious teenagers want to hangout in your living room, watch tv, and order pizza all night.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

Only if you let them

[–] [email protected] 38 points 3 weeks ago

I'm in this picture and I don't like it ☑

[–] [email protected] 22 points 3 weeks ago

I finally listened to what my body was trying to tell me and got a 3rd shift job.

[–] [email protected] 20 points 3 weeks ago

Why is my hair so long in these portrayals?

[–] [email protected] 17 points 3 weeks ago

I swear I'm nocturnal

[–] [email protected] 10 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Not sponsored but MidNite™ Back To Sleep melting tablets have eradicated this struggle so I can spend less time trying to sleep and more time working.

This really sounds like an ad. Also, using drugs to fall asleep probably isn't a great long term strategy.

Edit: I think I just commented on a post you made yesterday about involuntary twitching, that could be related lol

[–] [email protected] 4 points 3 weeks ago

I've had the twitching my whole life.

Also I'm not getting paid lmao

I looked it up and it's just 1.5mg melatonin. If you're in the USA you can find dozens of brands with the same thing. Gummies, chewables, etc.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah but that particular brand actually worked on me lmao. The others with higher doses were as good as just wishing I could sleep

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Higher isn't necessarily better when it comes to melatonin.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah that's the point I'm trying to make. What's in that particular brand that actually works?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago

Ah, looks like lemon balm, chamomile, and magnesium sterate are the ingredients I recognize.

Chamomile, you can find herbal sleepy time teas with it. The only downside is now you have an extra cup of liquid to possibly wake you up in the middle of the night.

Magnesium you can get in bulk. Iirc sterate is one of the easier ones to absorb. Magnesium citrate is also available, but may give you the runs if you take too much and it's not as readily absorbed.

Lemon balm is a common herbal sleep aid.

There are bunches more possibilities. The one that usually worked for me was skullcap as far as I could tell. Hops is another common one as is valerian root.

That's awesome that you found a combo that works for you, just remember that none of them are good long term, either for buildup side effects or tolerance, with the exception of melatonin.

I am asleep a 21:00 like clockwork, so WHY IN THE ACTUAL FUCKING FUCK AM I WIDE AWAKE AT 23:00!!! Fuck you brain, you stupid loud, anxiety riddled bitch

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 weeks ago

Literally me right now.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 3 weeks ago

How did you get this picture of me every fucking day since reaching adulthood?

[–] [email protected] 8 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

There's a solution, but it requires not having both hands visible in the last frame (or even better, having a partner)

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

While this works; am I the only one that feels like waking up, the day after, is harder, like the sleep was worse quality?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago

Couldn't tell you I don't have data to compare 🤷

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

It's funny because I'm either dead tired or very awake after doing the deed

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

She's always in the mood for a BJ, but not at night?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 3 weeks ago

It feels like I spend 15 hours waking up.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

Me when I wake up at 2AM vs me when I have to wake up at 6AM

[–] [email protected] 5 points 3 weeks ago

every. single. day. 😫

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Then there is me who is the first 3 panels 24 hours a day since I was 13, tired for decades getting 8-9 hours of sleep 😅 at least insomnia is rare. I don't wish insomnia on almost anyone. The 4-5 times I had it were the most frustrating hours..

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Sleep... what's "sleep"?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I have insomnia due to bi-polar. This couldn't be more true. It took many years to learn how to manage it.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Have you tried reversing the polarity?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And bouncing it off the main deflector dish?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

That's the one I use to steam grated zucchini, right?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Let's just wait for the earth to do it for him.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

what did you learn?? there’s a bunch of us up waiting for an answer

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I came to recognize certain ticks that indicate that I'm in a manic state. For example, I randomly make a sound popping my tongue on the roof of my mouth. I have a different level of nervous energy that expresses through bouncing my foot or similar movement (different from what happens otherwise; I can feel it more than I can explain it). I have a more rapid delivery of speech. Also, it feels really good when I'm manic. I started to recognize mania and get excited for extreme productivity before the horrible burnout a few times before I was willing to actively suppress it. Oh, and racing thoughts.

There are other flags, I can't recall them. There's a medication that helps knock me down and I haven't had a full-blown manic episode in years. I had to go through a bunch of manic episodes before I could identify the symptoms. I literally thought I'd never be able to control it and became extremely depressed. If you're going through the same, please know that you can learn to manage your condition with time and lead a "normal" life.

Thank you for sharing! I’m not bipolar but experience sleep problems, could be insomnia level but similarly learned to manage my brain activity and also follow a billion sleep rules. It’s much much better but still have episodes of not being able to sleep for a few hours.

I’m happy to hear you found things that are working for you, keep taking care 💌

Things like having a well-regulated sleep schedule isn't a failsafe. I woke up at 4am both nights that my partner took a roadtrip with visiting family. And sometimes you just have a rough couple of nights.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Or be me who's currently stuck in a sleeping schedule of waking up at midnight so I get tired in the afternoon

I wanted to play VR yesterday but when free time actually came I was too tired to do so

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 weeks ago

Welp, time to move to a different timezone.
