Maybe it's because your idea is of so little consequences as to be futile and not worth debating. Maybe the vast majority of people have more important things to deal with than determining when is the ideal time to schedule Pride month.
Ah yes.
Because people can only focus on one thing at a time, how could I forget?
Guess I oughta shut up and never think about the small things, right?
It's not focusing on one thing at a time, it's people having a limited number of fucks to give right now.
I'm a trans lesbian, and I really don't care when pride is celebrated. Because it's not really about pride anymore at all. It's all about corporate rainbow washing. So why would I care what month that happens in? I'd much rather deal with that problem than the month it's celebrated in.
I hope the anger in you disappeares one day.
When the world decides to stop hating me for my existence.....
The world doesn't hate you. Fascists hate you. Don't forget that.
It's more than fascists, but I do hold plenty of love for those willing to show love in my life.
"People" just don't however.
I wish only love for you my internet friend.
The pride event I can think of here in Vancouver falls in August anyway so I don't think this would even be a big deal. Plus I learned a bit about Canadian history having just moved here. Thanks!
August feels like a better month for it.
Pride celebrations in June can be cold and rainy in Alberta.
September can be cold, too, but maybe it'll be ahead of its time as the season extends with climate change and September begins to feel like August or a burnt crispy hellfire, which is on brand anyway.
In Ottawa it's in August but wanting to be different than the USA in every possible way isn't a great reason for wanting to go through the hassle of trying to change it.
Pride month is every month. Make it happen until it’s the fucking norm.
Pride month festivities are in August for Quebec as well.
If Toronto moved its Pride to August, who would come to Fiérté in Montreal?
