We brought him a little taste of civil war. He's just mad he's on the losing side.

Trickle down economics, contract with America, and the southern strategy. The new unholy trinity.

“Evil attacks”, like we’re killing puppies, or something.

Leave the puppy killing to the expert, Kristi Noem.

Could he appoint one person who then assembles a "task force" of individuals who support them? Or do they have to be each appointed by the judge himself for that specific task?I think one guy isn't going to cut it, but if 500 guys show up on the WH lawn to enforce the court order it might have some weight.

Nothing. I can see the future and I see what everybody is refusing to believe - Trump will not be gone in 4 years. Congress can't hold him to account (because half of them are collaborators) and the court's orders can't be enforced. Best we'll get is a stern tut-tut from Democrats while more and more rights will slip away at an alarming pace. Sure, the constitution SAYS you have the right to certain things, but if Trump violates those rights by ordering people below him to carry out unconstitutional acts, who will come save you? Not congress, not the judiciary, not the SCOTUS, not the police, not the military.

We're fucked. It's over.

There's nothing that says Presidential Pardons need to be in writing. Biden just had to direct the right people to offer a pardon to an individual which can then be accepted or declined. That can be verbal, electronically communicated, or in writing, but a signature from the President is just a formality and definitely not required, so the autopen/esign argument is a totally dead argument.

Just more criminal conduct from the felon in chief.

About half the seated Democrats right now need to be primaried hard. How did we have a more coordinated opposition party during Trump's first term? It's worse this time around and they are showing absolutely no will to fight.

Instead of frittering away the last few months of his presidential term, Biden should have just resigned and allowed Harris to take over his role. She could have pivoted way to the left without having to undermine Biden's agenda and that would have really sent a clearer message to the democratic base.

I have had plenty of painful moments, but a recent one is that my parents just don't seem to understand that the first result on Google is an advertisement and that they shouldn't be clicking on it. They literally can't see the difference between a sponsored search result (which can often be a bad faith actor or a scammer paying to get their result to the top of the search results) and a genuine link to the real site they were trying to reach.

I have tried installing adblockers for them, but they end up disabling them for certain websites that require popups to be enabled and then they never re-enable it again and end up clicking on bullshit links.

Hello everyone,

There has been a lot of new traffic to Lemmy in the past few weeks due to the turmoil at Reddit. A lot of you may be Reddit refugees, like I am, and are missing their old favorite subs right about now.

I think it's more important than ever for regular users to step up and take an active role in rebuilding their communities, and I wasn't sure that things would ever get going unless somebody stepped up to the plate and made the effort, and I didn't want to wait around for someone else to take the initiative when I already had a strong desire to see this sort of content brought over to Lemmy.

Now that the first step has been taken, I'm inviting others who might be interested in building or managing this community to join me in making this the best version of asksciencefiction possible.

I have never been affiliated with /r/asksciencefiction or even been a moderator at reddit before. Preferably, I would like to hand off ownership of this community to somebody who has a strong desire to build and grow the community and enforce the rules. If that sounds like something you are interested in, please don't hesitate to send me a private message.

Thank you!
