Hi everyone! I'm planning to deploy my server with an ARR-Suite and would appreciate some tips and tricks before I start, so I don't have to tear it down later. I want to automate it as much as possible while keeping it relatively simple, as I'm a beginner.

Firstly, I'm looking to download movies, TV shows, and some audiobooks. I am interested in using both Usenet and Torrents. I am German and prefer most of my media to be in German. I understand that most torrent trackers and Usenet groups are in English, but I'm primarily looking for German content. Can you recommend some public trackers or groups for this?

I understand that if you want to use private trackers and contribute to the community, you should seed for extended periods. How can I set it up so that I can seed for a long time while still using the files, renaming them, and moving them to my preferred directories without disrupting the seeding process? Are there any good tutorials or videos you would recommend?

I have tried to start this project multiple times, but I often run into the issue of wanting an automated system that renames and organizes these files into my desired directories without destroying the seeding process and without duplicating files, as I have limited storage.

If this post is not appropriate for this community and should be in a homelab forum, please let me know. I would love to hear about your setups and best practices.

Your problem are the big healthcare companies that make absurd amounts of money of patients. Here in Germany we have many health care programs and MidiCare and I believe the state looks. The prices of medicine and treatment aren'tOver the top, inflated. Just look at the prices of some medicine In the states to the rest of the world.

Fuck is this a Shitshow in the Comments. And here is my contribution.

I'm using Brave and Librewolf as Desktop Browser and on my Tablet i'm using only Brave. On my GrapheneOS Phone i'm using Vanadium because its the default and its good enough that i don't install a alternative.

What i want is a Browser with good adblocking and cookie... fingerprintresistance fast loading time but the main points are that these features must be enabled by default because i don't have the time and strength to enable them on any new device.

I simply don't have the capacity i'm worn down My Expirence has shown that some Webseites block my browser and then i simply switch to chromebased and in mist cases it works. And at this point in Time i don't have a better chromium based Browser with this much default Privacy features than Brave.

And i don't have the strengh to care about the CEO of them. I don't care. i'm tired

same i'm using Fedora KDE also my filebrowser crashed 3 times, when i tried copying my Photos to a Harddrive. I don't want to look at logs, because i'm not tech savvy enough to understand them. AND BECAUSE I DON'T CARE

I would not be the only one

Hi everyone,

I'm a complete beginner with Blender and I'm about to start a project where I want to model a cyberpunk-style mask. I have a 3D face scan of my own face, and I’d like to design the mask so that it fits properly later on.

I haven't started the tutorials yet, but I found Computer Explained 3D Modeling in Blender and the first Donat video quite interesting, especially for navigating within Blender. Before diving into modeling the mask, I’m looking for additional tutorials or tips that could help me with this specific project.

If anyone has suggestions for helpful resources or techniques, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

hey there, i need some Book suggestions. I love Fantasy/Urban Fantasy and Space Opera First things first MC must be female. I realy love Kate Daniels from Ilona Andrews or Elena Guild Hunter Series from Nalini Singh or The Innkeeper Series from Ilona Andrews.

I hate when a man appears and the Mc is sudenly helpless, to do shit by herself.

I like Happy Endings and absolute hate if the Autor kills a important Charakter of. I want Adult Fantasy and no YA, because i want the full picture if its a brutal Fight let it be brutal and if there is a steamy Scene so be it. By YA i always feel something is missing.

i don't like big Conspiracies, but its not a no no.

I don't like Classics Like Lord of the Rings...

Some Books that are my absolut Favorite: Urban Fantasy: Kate Daniels series Ilona andrews Innkepper series Ilona Andrews House Baylor series Ilona Andrews Guild Hunter Series Nalini singh Mercy Thompson series Patricia Briggs Omega series Patricia Briggs Jane Yellowrock series Faith Hunter T.a. White

Space Opera/Scifi: Class 5 series Michelle Diener Vatta Wars Elisabeth moon Galactic Bonds Jennifer Estep Jessie Mihalik T.a. White

Most Characters of these Books are Ready for a Fight/ Merchanary / or Soldiers Idk i really like Strong Woman

Thanks for Suggestions

Hi everyone,

I’m not sure if I’m in the right place, but since there isn’t a community like r/androidafterlife on Lemmy, I thought I’d ask here.

I recently saw a video about the Spotify Car Thing being open-sourced, which has led to an interesting project called Deskthing. This got me thinking—are there any similar projects aimed at repurposing older devices?

I’m specifically looking for projects that transform old smartphones into something more functional, rather than just running a standard Android setup with an app. Ideally, I’m interested in projects that can create unique uses for old hardware, like turning a device into an extra PC display that powers on when it detects power through a USB port.

In essence, I’m looking for solutions that bypass the long boot time of stock Android and offer a quick, streamlined experience. If you know of any projects like this, I’d love to hear about them!

Thanks!

Hey there i consider myself a relative noob, but I’ve been using Linux as my main operating system for about four years now, transitioning from Windows 7 to Linux Mint and then to MX Linux. Recently, I encountered a login issue, and I know I’m partially to blame for this. When I try to install projects from GitHub and things don’t work out, I often give up without deleting or cleaning up the configurations and fragments. Over time, this has led to a huge clutter on my system, which is why I’ve been wanting to do a fresh install for a while now, and I’m taking this as the opportunity to finally do it. My Hardware:

CPU: AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X
GPU: AMD Radeon™ RX 6700 XT
RAM: 32 GB

What I'm Looking For:

I’d love suggestions for a Linux distro that:

Has relatively up-to-date updates
Can optimize the performance of my hardware
Supports both programming and gaming

Currently, I have a minimal installation of Windows 11 set up for dual boot, but I’m considering moving it to a VM if the performance impact is manageable. If that doesn’t work out, I’d like to continue with Windows 11 in dual boot. I want to play games like Space Marines 2, and while I know about tools like Proton, Wine, and Lutris, I just don’t wanna dive into that right now. Please, no fundamental debates about how I don’t really NEED Windows. I fucking know! And just wanna know if its possibly or not. ;)

Additional Preferences:

I’d like to use Flatpaks wherever possible, except for programs that aren’t available or those where permissions issues arise, like password managers with browser integrations.
I’m interested in some "ricing" but don’t want to spend all my time troubleshooting or making constant adjustments.
I’d like to run a local AI on the machine so i hope for something that can squeze the last drop of performance out of my hardware.
I appreciate the extensive guides available for Debian-based systems but am open to exploring new options.

I’m excited to hear your recommendations!

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I loaded Fedora Kde, Nebora and AuroraDX on Ventoy and explored the systems.MyFavorite at this time is AuroraDX
