Tech billionaire and close adviser to President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, is lending his voice to encourage the pardon of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who killed George Floyd in May 2020.

a federal pardon by the diaper only moves his residence from a federal facility in arkansas back to a state facility in minnesota--where he does not want to be, as he's sure to run into inmates he uh.. has 'previously met'. that may have been a factor in his decision to plead guilty to the federal civil rights charges--so most or all his time served ends up in federal custody instead.

This is a distraction by Musk to pump the outrage-meter while he keeps on breaking shit. He doesn't really care about Chauvin except as a fellow fascist.

TBH if he wants to distract people from his shittiness then poking the bear that lead to worldwide protests and riots is not the play. Trump's previous admin teargassed crowds of people in front of the white house over the BLM protests sparked by the death of George Floyd. This is like him waving a sign saying "Just storm the premises already, I want to be mauled by a mob."

Musk is only doing this because Floyd was black.

I genuinely dont think he cares about that. Well, maybe he does, but that’s ancillary. I think he wants the civil unrest. It’s an amazing smoke shield so that he can get away with all sort of nonsense. If the news cycle is clogged with articles about this and retaliatory protests that’s less eyes on him gutting systems and enriching himself

Civil unrest also gives them a reason to send in the national guard, declare martial law, yada yada.

Did I just "yada yada" fascism? Yes I did.

He's hoping for Kent State 2.0 times 100. The needless deaths of innocent people is the only thing that gets him hard.

They need a Reichstag Fire event to suspend civil liberties. And they hope BLM will give it to them.

Musk is a racist shithead, it really isn't more complicated than that.

Fuck this assumption that there is some 4d chess going on. Musk isn't that smart.

You don't need to be smart to know that pardoning the criminal who created national civil unrest a few years ago, will create national civil unrest now.

Even Trump is able to put 2 and 2 together.

Musk was 19 when apartheid in South Africa ended.

As in, lily white Musk lived for 19 years as an heir to a blood emerald mine in apartheid South Africa.

There is simply no way he isn't racist. I would believe Trump isn't racist before believing Elon isn't.

I phrased it poorly by saying I genuinely don’t think he cares about that. I agree with you. what I mean is I don’t think that’s his primary goal. I think it’s a nice bonus that he also gets to absolve a fellow racist

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago

It's sending a message to their racist supporters that it's open season on killing minorities because Trump will pardon them.

Nazis are locked in a shittiness contest, trying to one up each other.

Seriously, it explains a lot of their behavior.

vice signaling

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

Does a pardon mean release from prison?

Because he's probably safer in prison.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 month ago

Poor Derek Chauvin. He went through all those grueling weeks of training to become a police officer so he could murder people with impunity, and the woke mafia stole that dream from him.

Shapiro and Musk: rewriting tragedy into propaganda, one pardon petition at a time.

Can someone take one for the team already?

How is it possible that this is the only thing the democrats seem to care about? Yet they seem fully complacent with Trumps destruction of the US economy, democracy and international relationships?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If you think that this is the only thing that Democrats care about then you clearly have your eyes closed.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Well open my eyes then, show me the riots or other major actions that I apparently fail to see.

Sure the democrats do not like whats happening, but they are too complacent to do anything about it.

You know I'm right

On the one hand, they have nothing left. They have been voted our of everything. Can't really be heard or do anything then.

On the other hand, I do indeed find the lack of uprising weird. No street protests, no government buildings being ransact, no police officers being killed, flags everywhere.. oh. Like a reverse 6th of Januari.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Simple. Seeing video of a cop murdering a black man in cold blood, while other officers fend off help, is far more visceral than the other items you mentioned.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

This is the actual answer to their, although ill-phrased, reasonable question. If something equally visceral occurred that represents the other issues, the same will happen.
