The androids of both shows feel the most human chars of the lot (to me personally).
So jipped about the abrupt end of dark matter. Canceling shows without wrapping things up sucks.
Jipped is gyped. As in ripped off by gypsies. It's not a nice thing to say. Many people don't know about the racist origin of the term. If you hate me for saying this I can tell you the nastiest joke I know involving a gypsy. They prefer to be called Roma though.

I think you’re reaching on that one. Buck is a term used for a male animal. For example, calling a kid “young buck” isn’t to do with anything racial or to do with slaves. It simply means young man.
Buck naked is just saying your as naked as a wild animal. Buck wild is to say someone is acting free and crazy like a wild animal, similar to “wilding out”.

I'm willing to grant that it's possible these slang terms were more animal related than slave related. I do have to point out that your snopes link, although it mentions a false etymology related to slavery, is about the term bucks to mean dollars. Which of course comes from deer hides. I think buck referring to money and buck referring to young slave men are different etymologies.
What I wrote was how I heard it, and I don't remember when or where. Like I said, it's possible I'm wrong, but I do not concede that you have refuted my argument.
Heads up, snopes had kind of a hostile takeover situation. They were being transparent about their funding and expenditures until the past four years. I have no doubt what you linked is correct, but snopes is no longer the final word on the internet that it once was.
We may both have truth to our posts. I’m no expert in, well anything, so I can’t comment further on the possibility of buck being a negative word for some. Your post is the first I’ve heard pointing it towards slaves. That doesn’t make it untrue.
One thing that’s clear is the history taught has been shown to be not so accurate at times. Crediting the wrong person for inventions, one sided views on topics, etc.

For a second, I got excited that the Apple Dark Matter actually was a continuation of this one.
I just came to say the same thing. I have not seen this show from 2015, but did watch the Apple show recently. I was very confused!

That’s Melissa O'Neil. She also plays officer Lucy Chen in The Rookie. IIRC, she actually started as a singer and then transitioned into acting.

There's 3, but it ended on a cliffhanger right as a bunch of plot points from each season were converging into a bigger threat. 😠
I’ll still check this show out. The girl who is an enhanced person is in “The Rookie” and I like her character.
I enjoyed the first season so much I bought it, but don't remember much about the other two.

I searched for it uhh… somewhere and noticed that there are two different shows called “Dark Matter” that was kind of confusing. The one that is referenced here did not show up on google or the Wikipedia page when I did a casual search.
Book is the source material, though haven't read it yet.
