Right. I'm using it to juice up a Fortune Teller, anyway. If it hits, it hits. If it doesn't, whatever. I'm down $2, and up a +1 mult.
But what if I get an Aura card on my next shop and now my good jokers are foils?
Exactly. If you fail 5 in a row it means the next one has to hit /s.
One joke i tell myself is sure every attempt is 50/50 but if i get like 50 fails in a row thats like winning the lottery.
There are 2 things I almost always grab: wheel of fortune and bind skips with the negative tag.
Negative tag gambling is even worse than Wheel of Fortune. You're out an entire shop, all of your blind earnings, and the negative joker you get is going to suck.

How does it know??? Yeah yeah probability and bad dice rolls and muh open source code. But theres no fucking way it can so consistently hit either food jokers that expire in a few rounds or completely irrelivant jokers that dont syngergize to add any points/multi.
I'm convinced they haven't dug into the code enough. LocalThunk is some 4D chess player obsucating hidden functions layered deep in the spaghetti-cake lua that actually fucks with wheel of fortune and makes negative blind skips trash.
Personally I don't grab the negative tag hoping for an actually good joker, I grab it so I can ensure Verdant Leaf has free fodder for my run (I get it a lot and greatly prefer it when I have a negative tag seed). You give me garbage and I give it right back game!
But with the Anaglyph deck and a pile of duplicate tags you get a whole lot of negative jokers. Assuming you get the negative tag at all.

This worked for me three times in a row before. And that was when I knew it was never gonna work again. I swear I've had it 10 times since and it hasn't worked. Used up all my luck.
It's a testament to how well balanced the game is.
